Bitty Schram Catches Thief, Speaks Out
Bitty Schram, wonderful as Sharona in the first seasons of Monk, returns to prime time as an art gallery owner in two episodes of the new FX crime drama Thief, airing April 4 and 11.
Schram has never spoken out about the real reason that she left Monk at the height of its popularity - that is, until now. In the April 3-9 print edition of TV Guide, Bitty reveals that she didn’t want to leave Monk, but she suspected that she “was being paid less than many people who got raises,” and she couldn’t “work out a new contract.” She went on to call Monk “the best experience of my career.”
We’re certain Schram wasn’t earning Screen Actors Guild minimum, but, nonetheless, a pay dispute is a better exit issue than the long-circulated rumor that Bitty walked because she wasn’t getting enough screen time.

I liked Sharona (Bitty Schram) but Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard) fits in just as well. Monk is why we watch

I was so sad to read that Bitty was let go from Monk, why could they not give her the pay rise i have watched Taylor Howard and iam sorry to say i feel the chemistryhas gone surely Tony Shalhoub could have put up a fight to keep her with the series.Well i wish Bitty the best if she does not go back in Monk then i hope we see in many films to come and she becomes a big star down:

I love Quirky TV shows. so Monk is a rare favorite. While I agree Monk, is what the show centers on, the supporting ensemble is needed and helps this show immensely.
The OCD premise would wear thin, SO Watching the main characters play off him makes this work.
Bitty Schram, never heard of her until MONK, but she was the best. The next actress is ok, but I don’t watch MONK as faithfully.
She just does NOT have the spark, the verve, the personna of MS. Schram.
Today is a MONK Marathon on USA network, 4th of July, and instead of swimming or out shopping, I am home watching those early episodes with Tony and Bitty.
Like William Powell and Myrna Loy in the Thin Man Movies, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez, Tony and Bitty played off each other great.
In my Mind, someone did NOT value her contribution enough, and she was a central part of this show. Bring back Bitty!
I don’t watch much TV But I enjoy Monk, HOUSE, The Closer, Medium, CSI, CSI Miami, the OLD Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, all ensemble shows and most episodes well written.
Don’t tamper with success!

I am a big fan of Bittys. I am a fan of actress Traylor Howard who replaced her, but not in this role on Monk. Bitty was hands down the better nurse. She was funnier, spunkier, and she really brought the role to life. The chemistry with her and the other character was just sharper than Natalies character.
f anyone who matters reads this PLEASE bring Sharona back.
