David Duchovny Comes to the Small Screen (Again!)

David DuchovnyEver since David Duchovny left The X-Files, there has been a little empty place in my heart. Fear not, Duchovny fans, for he returns again to the small screen! This time, however, he’ll be working with Showtime on two projects, according to a report from Variety. One series in the works would have Duchovny starring as a writer addicted to sex and drugs—who is trying to raise a child on his own. The pilot does not have a title attached yet. He will also executive produce the series.

But wait—there’s more! He’s also writing a comedy pilot with Bart Freundlich, called Yoga Man, which is said to be similar to the movie Shampoo (with Warren Beatty), only set in a yoga studio. Hmm. Ahh, just when I’d gotten the last of Duchovny out of my system, he’s back again. Welcome back to the small screen, David.

It’s the “wait, there’s more” that I’m most thrilled about—-Yoga Man. He’s a good actor, but he’s my favorite script writer. I’m really looking forward to both, though.
I’m going to repeat this next part till I’m blue in the face. Why doesn’t Duchovny have a project-oriented-but-not-project-specific blog so I can keep up with the projects he does?
Sorry, I’m no fan of infotainment & don’t read People or Entertainment Weekly for fun. (I’d sooner rip out my eyelashes than sit through daytime talk shows like The View, & I’m a GIRL)
There’s a reason why god created rss feeds, yes?

I’m looking forward to the Showtime series, I hope you’ll keep us posted on that since it doesn’t even have a name yet.  Duchovny as a single dad, a writer, and strung-out to boot, sounds like it could be very entertaining and insightful.  Thanks for the heads-up about this one, I’ll watch for it!

I am looking forward to seeing the David Duchovny´s projects. It looks great.
I do like the man. He´s very talented.
