Alec Baldwin wants out of 30 Rock, but it’s unclear if he can get out of his contract with NBC. After his angry ranting voicemail message to his 11-year-old daughter was leaked last week, a lot of people were left with a bad taste about Baldwin. He taped an interview for The View which will air on Friday, apologizing for the way he spoke to his daughter: “Obviously calling your child a pig or anything else is improper and inappropriate and I apologize to my daughter for that. There’s nothing wrong with being frustrated or angry about the situation,” Baldwin said. “It’s the way you do it, and as people often do in this world, I took it out on the wrong person.” Apologies aside, Baldwin also said that he wants NBC to release him from his 30 Rock contract to spare castmates from any repercussions for his behavior, saying, “If I never acted again I couldn’t care less. I would like to devote myself to the cause of parental alienation.” Baldwin is writing a book to shed light on the subject, which he says was the reason for the angry message.
