Childhood Obesity Documentary From Al Roker

Al RokerAl Roker knows a thing or two about being a heavy kid, having to shop in the husky section for clothing. We’re all more than familiar with grown up and overweight Roker and his 2002 gastric bypass surgery to drop weight. He’s now hoping to draw more attention to the childhood obesity problem with a new documentary on the Food Network. Childhood Obesity: Danger Zone will air on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. According to Roker, “If you run the numbers out, this would be the first generation that has a shorter life span than their parents. The documentary will look at some kids who were able to gain control of their weight. There are a number of factors for kids’ expanding waist lines, including fast food, sedentary kids, junk food, and a lack of physical education in some schools.
