American Idol Continues to Plead Ellen’s Case

Everyone at American Idol - even those formerly on the show - has been stepping forward to tell us why Ellen DeGeneres, comedienne and talk show host, is a great choice for the nation’s number one singing-themed reality show. And frankly, I’m not buying it.
“She loves the show, she loves music, and she’s a star,” said Kara DioGuardi, perhaps not realizing that many celebrities could easily fit the three criteria. “You got to be a star to win the show.” That’s not to say that winning the show will make you a star. Anyone know where Taylor Hicks is these days?

I see you wanted to know where Taylor Hicks is. Well, doesn’t everybody? Hes had very few days off this year so he is hard to keep track of.
Lets see, He just finished a 3 week stay in Texas with great reviews. And in the middle of that he hopped over to Biloxi for a 1500 seat sell out at Beau Rivage.
Now hes in Birmingham playing ot full houses both at Grease and his own shows. Then its on to NC and Florida and the Epcot Center.
That is one busy, busy man. Great fun to watch.

He’ll have played well over 300 shows this year - both as the star in Grease and his own acoustic concert tour across the country. Yes, he just sold out the 1500 seat Beau Rivage in Biloxi last week. He’s opened his own record label and made his 4th CD with members of Eric Clapton’s touring band as the players on the record. Is that not enough? Oh yea, he made Forbes Top 10 Idol Earners in 2008, so he’s also busy making trips to the bank.
