Betting on the American Idols: It’s a Gamble
The surprises. The shock. The “oh no” moments. Everyone who watches American Idol makes predictions, roots for some to lose and others to win. But, there’s no real way to know who will walk away with the top prize until the votes are in…or is there?
Gambling911.com and other sites are offering odds on each of the Idol contestants, providing payouts on correct gambles. Right now, the odds-on favorite is adorable David Archuleta, who blew everyone away during 70s week with his version of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Asia’h Epperson, another favorite, is a popular choice among Idol betters - with some sites offering as much as a $15 payout on Asia’h odds. According to Sportsbook, scandalized Amanda Overmyer is a long shot, with 35 to 1 odds, but even she can’t touch Chikezie’s 50 to 1 odds. Cutie Danny Noriega has 40 to 1 odds, while Kristy Lee Cook is at 30 to 1. None are considered more of a long shot than Luke Menard, the one I can barely remember, who is listing at 75 to 1 odds. If he wins, he’ll offer the biggest Idol betting payout.
