Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Bones: (500) Days of Summer star Zooey Deschanel is in talks to join her real-life sister, Emily, on the Fox series. If the stars can be aligned, exec producer Hart Hanson says Zooey may visit as Brennan’s cousin in a Christmas episode.

Dollhouse: Joss Whedon has just added one more doll to his house. Summer Glau - a.k.a. the hot robot chick on Terminator - is now officially a new member of the FOX series. The Firefly vet will have multiple appearances as an employee with a shared past with Echo.

Chuck: Superman Brandon Routh will be soaring into NBC this season. Routh will play a “mysterious spy” who takes over as leader of Operation Bartowski. The former superhero will also try to take over Chuck’s role in Sarah’s heart. Brandon’s stint will last several weeks.

90210: A new surfer girl will likely bring some waves to West Beverly. Amalia Kinser has been cast as Ivy, an “easygoing” and “athletic” blonde who will reportedly make friends with both Dixon and Liam. Kinser will ride her way in this October.

Ugly Betty: The always-hilarious Kristen Johnston has just acquired a former Paula Abdul gig. (No, not American Idol.) According to sources, Abdul may have lost a role on the ABC comedy due to unreasonable requests like a private jet. The 3rd Rock from the Sun star will now get a recurring role as Helen, a new office temp at Mode.

Grey’s Anatomy: Seattle Grace has just hired its latest (hot) body. New recruit Jesse Williams (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2) will roam the hospital’s halls as a “sexy, confident new medical professional.” Williams will stick around for multiple episodes.

Damages: Royal Pains actor Campbell Scott will be joining the critically-acclaimed FX series as a regular next year. Since the program is known for its twists, Scott’s role remains a mystery. Season 3 debuts in January.
