Jorja FoxDaphne Zuniga

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Jorja Fox is having a hard time staying away from the hit series. Despite “leaving” the show over a year ago, she made several appearances last season. Now Fox is scheduled to appear in five episodes of the upcoming season, including the September 24 premiere. Although we are expected to learn “where life has taken Sara Sidle and what brings her back to the CSI team in Las Vegas,” it’s unclear whether William Petersen will be included in that reveal.

Lie to Me: Actress Erika Christensen (Traffic) is slated to take on a new troubled character. Christensen will go from playing a student with a drug addiction to playing a student with a multiple personality disorder. The series returns to FOX on Sept. 28.

Melrose Place: Daphne Zuniga is the latest veteran to land a job on the CW update. Her character, photographer Jo Reynolds, will find herself back in the mix after years of success away. (Oh so Brenda Walsh-y of you, writers.) Zuniga will stick around for at least two episodes. Actress Taryn Manning will also be making a quick visit to the famous address. The Hustle & Flow star will play a singer whose video is being directed by Jonah Miller (Michael Rady). Expect to see Taryn in Week 3.

Grey’s Anatomy: Goonies star Martha Plimpton has been cast in a multi-episode arc on the medical drama. The Emmy nominee will play a young patient’s mother. Meanwhile, X-Files vet Mitch Pileggi will make a return appearance as hospital board chairman Larry Jennings. Both Pileggi and Plimpton will be seen on Sept. 24’s two-hour premiere.

Desperate Housewives: Wisteria Lane’s newest resident will be coming straight from the Bronx. The Soprano‘s Drea de Matteo will setting up shop in the neighborhood as the mother of an Italian family. Drea, whose been cast a series regular will be joined by 24‘s Jeffrey Nording (her landscaper hubby) and Beau Mirchoff (the 19-year-old son). Housewives returns on Sept. 27.

Scrubs: We might not be seeing much of Sacred Heart next year, but we’ll be seeing a lot of Eliza Coupe. The actress who played Denise, the insensitive intern, has just been promoted to full-time status for upcoming season. The comedy will return sometime midseason.
