Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Gossip Girl: A star of different CW show will become Nate Archibald’s latest love interest. On September 14, a blonde Joanna Garcia (Privileged) will begin a four-episode stint as Bree Buckley, a “Miss America-type Southern belle.” Later, another blonde - Hilary Duff - will set up shop as Olivia Burke, an actress-turned-college student. Duff will room with Vanessa, a fellow NYU student, for a few weeks starting on October 5.

Law & Order: SVU: A new two-year deal means vets Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni will be returning to the NBC drama after all. (Stephanie March was already announced earlier.) Other announcements for this upcoming year include a guest appearance by Prison Break‘s Wentworth Miller (as a cop who saves a rape victim) and Christine Lahti (in a short stint as a new ADA). Season 11 begins on September 23.

Lie to Me: Two faces from the series’ freshman series will get additional airtime this fall. Mekhi Phifer (ER), who guested as FBI agent Reynolds, has just been added as a series regular. Meanwhile, Jennifer Beals (The L Word) will recur as Assistant U.S. Attorney Zoe Landau. The FOX program will return on September 28.

Entourage: When the HBO comedy kicks off on Sunday, audiences will once again get a sprinkling of celebrity cameos. Stars sightings this season will include Scott Caan (as a talent manager, William Fichtner (as a TV producer), Matt Letscher (as a TV exec) and Zac Efron.

The Forgotten: My Own Worst Enemy may have fizzled out, but Christian Slater is getting another chance on the small screen. The actor will now front Forgotten, a new Jerry Bruckheimer production. The series will focus on old cases involving John Does. The ABC drama will premiere on September 22.

NCIS: The CBS series may have spawned a spinoff, but there will be a common denominator on both. Rocky Carroll, who plays director Leon Vance on the original program, will also make recurring appearances on NCIS: Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Oscar winner Linda Hunt (The Year of Living Dangerously) was recently added as a former film-industry technician who will help outfit the West Coast special agents. This casting news comes not too long after a previously-announced Louise Lombard was axed from the program.
