Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Parks and Recreation: Will Rob Lowe be trading in his Senate seat for a job with the parks department? According to Entertainment Weekly, the soon-to-be departing Brothers & Sisters star is in talks to join the NBC comedy. It’s not clear what role he’ll fill, but Lowe will supposedly start his run sometime this season.

The Mentalist: A Clockwork Orange‘s Malcolm McDowell will be bringing his unique presence to the hit series. The Golden Globe nominee will be playing - surprise! - a religious cult leader that series creator Bruno Heller calls a “great heavy.” McDowell will the enter the picture on April 29.

The Vampire Diaries: Need someone to stir up “some trouble”? Then give David Anders a call. The former Alias star has now been tapped to appear on the CW series as Jonathan Gilbert, Elena and Jeremy’s uncle. Anders will enter the scene sometime in April.

Nikita: Been wondering when Hollywood would get around to making La Femme Nikita again? Well, now you have your answer. CW is developing a remake that will likely feature Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard) as the title character. Peta Wilson starred in USA Network’s version of the assassin story in the late ‘90s.

CSI: NY: Actor Harold Perrineau will be making a pseudo return to Oz when he guests on the CBS drama. In the April episode, Harold will become involved in a prison riot during his stay on death row. CSI member Sheldon Hawkes will also be present when that fight breaks out.
