Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

Drop Dead Diva: Paula Abdul will soon be featured in two programs about divas. On September 17, the former Idol judge will host VH1 Divas highlighting Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Jordin Sparks. Then just three days later, she will have a guest appearance on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva. Paula will play an actual judge - albeit a sexy one - in a dream sequence.

Parks and Recreation: Amy Poehler will be getting by with a little help from her friends. On an upcoming episode, SNL bud Fred Armisen will guest as a parks employee from Pawnee’s sister city in Venezuela. Unfortunately, the visitor will not be able to relate to Leslie Knope’s “rinky-dink” department as his office is far more powerful and wealthy in comparison.

Castle: Debi Mazar is making quite a home for herself on ABC. In addition to nabbing a spot on Dancing with the Stars, the Entourage actress has landed a role on the sophomore series. She has been cast as Paula Haas, Richard Castle’s book agent.

Grey’s Anatomy: How will be ABC make up for both Katherine Heigl’s leave of absence and Ellen Pompeo’s maternity leave? By introducing more characters. Nora Zehetner (Heroes’ Eden McCain) has been recruited to play Reed, a “feisty, very smart and competitive” character who might not be liked by all. She’ll make her first appearance in Week 5.

Big Love: There’s going to be a new daughter welcomed into the already large Henrickson family. Bella Thorne (Dirty Sexy Money) will become the new Tancy, one of Barb and Bill’s daughters. Jolean Wejbe previously played the character in the first three seasons.

Chuck: Women’s Murder Club star Angie Harmon is a new addition to the NBC series. The dark-haired beauty has been recruited to help the Ring knock off Ryan McPartlin’s alter ego. The show is currently rests on the network’s mid-season calendar.

House: Look for Gregory House’s personal detective to pop up again next season. Lucas Douglas (actor Michael Weston), who previously kept an eye on Wilson, has an unspecified role in at least one episode. The program will return on September 21.
