Contestant Cut from American Idol 9’s Top 24

Although we thought we knew the Top 24 names competing to be your next American Idol, there’s been a last-minute change to the list.
One contestant has reportedly been pulled from the roster due to an unfortunate error in judgment. Want to know the name? Find out after the jump!

According to Idol spoiler site Joe’s Place, contestant Michael Lynche was replaced with an unnamed alternate over the weekend. The reason? His father mistakenly confirmed his son’s standing to a Florida newspaper. That’s a contract no-no.
If the report is true, this wouldn’t be the first Idol disappointment for the Lynche family. Back in 2004, Michael’s brother, Marque, made it all the way to the semifinals.
