Dancing with the Stars 7: Week 1 Loser

Ted McGinley on Dancing with the Stars

When you don’t have a soap opera fan base supporting you, a large asset on you or eighty years of living behind you—chances are, you’re going to be eliminated. And that was precisely the case for .

Tonight on , the Love Boat/Married with Children/Hope & Faith/Happy Days star was asked to leave the parquet floor. His elimination came one day after comedian Jeffrey Ross was sent home with only one eye.

Although McGinley was not the competition’s lowest scorer - his his combined total of 35 bested Cloris Leachman’s 32 - no one expected the feisty octogenarian would be going anywhere quite so soon. And while he was technically tied with Susan Lucci and lazy Kim Kardashian coming into this evening, his charm was outmatched by their appeal.

So who do you think will be up on the chopping block next? How long will Cloris be able to survive on her sass alone? Is Lance Bass’ boy band background an unfair advantage? Let us know what you think!

I don’t think it is an unfair advantage.  I think all of the stars have aspects of their lives that can give them advatages in different aspects and areas of dance.  The dancing in a boy band is greatly different then in ballroom.  Plus guys a lot of years have passed since he did any of that sort of thing.  To bring it up now is unfair to him because no one was criticizing the Joeys or Drew for their previous boyband/pop dancing.  Also Mario from last season danced for his hip hop videos at the same time he was on DWTS and he did an interview on how different the styles were and in fact made it a little more difficult.

I think that Cloris Leachman is going to be the comic relief this season and the fact that she is 82 yrs old is a plus for the show in that dancing is also for seniors. Cloris will not dance like the younger contestants, of course, but she moves better than a lot of seniors her age. All the contestants have their edge and therefore have their fan base. It is a question of who have the most fan base. It is a numbers game and some skill also helps. Good luck to all the contestants.
