Follow The ‘Ghost Hunters’ This Halloween
Ever wonder how real life Ghost Hunters conduct their paranormal investigations? At-home viewers can tag along with Jason, Grant and the team from TAPS this Halloween as they investigate Waverly Manor in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s called one of the most haunted places on Earth, and it’s my hometown.
The SciFi Channel original series Ghost Hunters debuted in October 2004, taking a cynical approach to a business that’s usually filled with mediums and psychics. Jason and Grant, founders of TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) do not claim to have special talents or an affinity for the dead. They are simply plumbers for Roto Rooter, men who set out to debunk and disprove claims of paranormal activity. Using technical equipment and sharp eyes, the Ghost Hunters do their best to prove that places are not haunted.

Each year, the TAPS team chooses one particularly interesting location for their live Halloween haunt-fest, which allows home viewers to keep an eye on Ghost Hunter cameras. The SciFi network’s website will feature streaming video and a panic button, allowing home viewers to direct the Ghost Hunters toward locations that deserve a closer investigation. The live Halloween special will start at 9 pm on Halloween night, ending at 3 am. As an added bonus, three trial Ghost Hunters will experience their first investigation. The Halloween trip will be a sort of in-the-field test for these three (Patrick, Mark and Deanna), who are each competing to become the next Ghost Hunting investigator. Viewers will get the chance to judge these three new Ghost Hunters while they participate in the ghost hunt through online and TV cameras. Want to be part of the investigation, maybe even catch a glimpse of the paranormal? Tune into the live Halloween Ghost Hunters…but don’t watch it alone.
