Not all of our spoilers panned out (TV producers are tricky, tricky animals), but all our expectations were met on Tuesday’s “Sexy” Glee episode. The episode highlighted the tricky world of romantic and sexual relationships, a topic that sorely needed to be addressed.

In the past, the show has portrayed teen sex as a matter of course, presenting the only consequence to be an unwanted pregnancy that tidily disappears in less than a year. Not this time. With the help of Gwyneth Paltrow, the students at William McKinley began to get a sexual education… erm, set to music.

The beginning of the episode revealed that the school’s Chastity Club is down to two members: Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele). Emma (Jayma Mays) serves as their supervisor. As it happens, she’s the perfect person to teach chastity; the episode revealed that she’s still as virginal as she was before she married Dr. Carl.

We know: yikes.

Holly Holliday (Gwyneth Paltrow) appeared as the sexual education substitute, and of course she brought her particular brand of sexy irreverence to the topic. In teaching the class, Holly figured out that the Glee club kids are totally clueless.

A fact that was further revealed when Brittany (Heather Morris) decided she was pregnant because a stork began building a nest near her window (you know, to deliver the baby). Thankfully, Britt isn’t preggers… but, she’s got a lot of other things to worry about. Through the course of the episode, Santana (Naya Rivera) was forced to confront her own feelings for Brittany.

But first, she sang along with the rest of the club when Paltrow sensationally performed “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah).” Watch the video of her performance above -- and make sure to catch her safe-sex reminder at the end.

Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) appeared only briefly to attempt to wrest information out of Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) as they stood in line for their morning coffee. In trying to gain information about her upcoming Regionals competition, Sylvester gave some away instead. Blaine immediately called for an emergency meeting, because “the Warblers gotta do something sex-ified” for the upcoming contest. We couldn’t agree more, Blaine.

This eventually led to their most epic number to date: “Animal,” with screaming school girls and lots of bubbles. For the first time in Warbler history, Kurt sang the lead with Blaine.

But, Kurt has a problem understanding sex appeal… or, sex in general. After Blaine’s abortive attempts to broach the subject, he turned to the one man who could offer help: Burt Hummel (Mike O’Malley). Blaine had a frank talk with the rather unwilling Burt, who in turn had an open discussion with his son about sex in general and gay sex in particular. It was one of the best scenes the show has ever done, though thanks to Naya Rivera perhaps not the strongest of the episode.

After she kept Puck (Mark Sallling) and Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) from making a sex tape, Holly Holliday had a long talk with Brittana about their relationship. Together, the three beautifully performed “Landslide” in a heart-wrenching musical moment.

In the middle of it all, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and Holly performed a very sexy version of “Kiss,” the video of which you can view at the top of the article. He carefully wooed her, and though she rejected him at first Mr. Schue won her over in the end (he always does). And we’ve got a new love interest, people.

At the most inconvenient time, as it happens. The episode also revealed what we’ve long suspected: Emma is still hung up on Will, and that’s why her marriage isn’t working out so well. Hubby Carl (John Stamos) knows they’re having serious issues, though he gamely performed “Afternoon Delight” with new celibacy club member Puck and the other members of the group.

But the big revelation came toward the end of the episode. After some soul-searching, Santana (Naya Rivera) realized that she’s in love with BFF Brittany, and that’s why she’s so angry all the time. But, Britt isn’t having it -- not right now, anyway. “It wouldn’t be fair to Artie,” she explained sweetly to Santana, saying that she loves Artie (Kevin McHale) as well as Santana. Heartbreaking.

The episode was controversial with fans, many either loving or hating it. Some praised the show for openly addressing gay issues with Santana, others are exhausted with the repeating themes (closeted homosexuality = bullying) and the lack of new Finnchel moments. Fans did get to see a brief scene between Quinn and Finn (Cory Monteith), which shows that their relationship continues to thrive.
