GSN Gathering Celebs for Two Renewals

The is sticking with Catch 21 and the newly revamped Newlywed Game. Both game shows have been renewed for another run on the cable network, and both will see big surprises in upcoming episodes.

The Newlywed Game will turn standard marriages on their ear by featuring the first-ever same-sex couple on the series: George Takei (Star Trek) and his mate Brad Altman, to be exact. Other celebs scheduled to appear with their real-life partners include Davy Jones of The Monkees and his wife Jessica Pacheco, Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo from , and several celebs from The Biggest Loser, Survivor, Real Housewives and others.


Hosted by (of Wilson Phillips fame), the Newlywed Game has been a big success story for GSN. “I find it so fascinating to hear the couples talk about the juicy details of their relationships on national television!” Wilson recently gushed about the gig. “I’m happy to be back with the GSN family,” she said of being renewed for a second season. 

Alfonso Ribeiro will also return for another stint on Catch 21, a Blackjack-type trivia game which offers contestants the chance to win $25,000. For the third season of the series, GSN has scheduled several celebs, including Tatyana Ali (The Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Melody Scott Thomas (The Young and the Restless) and Tracey Gold (Growing Pains).

I’ve never watched the new version of the show (even though I loved all its older version) because it says on everything “brought to you by eharmony” I’m curious how they can put a gay couple on if according to news reports eharmony is against gay people?
