Jessica Simpsons’ Live Country Performance on The View
When I first heard Jessica Simpson’s newest single back in May, I said the singer should probably stick with country music. (When compared to the fluff she had been attempting before, it really seems to be the style best suited for her.)
Now after seeing her perform ‘Come On Over’ live on The View (you can watch that clip after the jump), I would like to offer Simpson just one more piece of advice: don’t ever let people see you sing.
One of the many things that has always bothered me about Jessica - aside from her love of the Dallas Cowboys - is her freaky facial distortions. Sadly, I’ve discovered her painful expressions (and general inability to move) will accompany her regardless of the genre she’s working in.
So tell me - was it really necessary for her to eat the microphone at the end? Did that really help the performance overall?

I do like Jessica Simpson as a singer, she does have one of the nicest voices in the industry, but I’m just curious to know what she has been doing so far in the year 2008! Not too much news about her and that performance…wasn’t the best, that’s for sure.
