Kathie Lee Gifford Returning To Morning TV
Just when you were absolutely sure you’d never have to sit through another excruciating story about Kathie Lee Gifford’s children she is coming back to morning TV.
The 11-time Emmy winner has been named co-host of the 4th hour of NBC’s Today Show. The new gig starts April 7.
Kathie Lee Gifford is obviously no stranger to this day part. She was on TV for 15 years as co-host of Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. Gifford left the show in 2000. She was replaced by fellow, overly-perky personality, Kelly Ripa.
Read More Of her new TV job Kathie Lee Gifford told MSNBC, “It’s going to be a new experience because this time it’s with a girlfriend...Regis was like a bad little brother all those years.”
All tolled there are three other hosts on Today’s 4th hour. They are Ann Curry, Natalie Morales, and Hoda Kotb. Giada de Laurentiis and Tiki Barber also serve as occasional correspondents on the show.
Gifford hasn’t been sitting idle these past 8 years between TV gigs. She is a singer and an advocate for children’s charities. Her two children lend their names to two New York City shelters for babies born with HIV or cocaine addiction.
Gifford is still married to her husband of 21 years, sports commentator Frank Gifford. Her son Cody is now 18 and her daughter Cassidy is 14. After all these years I’m betting some people are actually interested again in what she and her family have been up to. Now we’ll know for sure.
Again, Kathie Lee Gifford becomes a permanent co-host of NBC’s Today show 4th hour on April 7.
