Keeping Up With the American Idols
You want to win the biggest show in the nation, you’re going to have a break a few commitments. This is the grim reality of American Idol that contestant Brooke White faced when she missed her sister’s wedding, and now front-runner David Archuleta is experiencing the same. After talking about the event for many weeks, it looks like Archie will miss his High School prom.
The show does not allow contestants to leave LA while they’re still participating on stage, which means no rule-bending even for the favorite. Unless David Archuleta gets voted off this week - yeah, right - he’ll be dancing on stage instead of at the high school gym. It could be a lot worse.
Read More Tonight, the six remaining Idols take the stage to sing Andrew Lloyd Webber classics, a truly inspiring and interesting song book. Some reports are hinting that Jason Castro will sing “Any Dream Will Do,” while Brooke White will croon “I Don’t Know How to Love Him.” Webber won’t tell who’s singing what, but he did have a few comments about one Idol.
Webber said the group number will be a surprise (what, that they won’t do “Memory”?). “The girl who I was really quite impressed with was Brooke. She was really - I got something out of her,” Webber told reporters. Funny, the only thing I ever get out of her is the same performance over and over. No doubt she’ll sing something hauntingly sad while sitting behind the piano, bore me to tears and then smile sweetly as the judges tell her how wonderful she is. It’s another week on Idol.
