Paula Abdul, Randy JacksonAs host of the pre-game events, Ryan Seacrest - yes, Ryan Seacrest - gave reporters some insight on what they should be expecting come game day.  While confirming rumors of a Paula Abdul comeback performance, he tacked on news many may be disappointed to hear:  her performance with will be pre-taped.

C’mon, seriously?  Have we not learned anything from ‘comeback’ at the VMAs?  If you’re going to reestablish yourself in the music industry, you’re going to need to do it live.  We don’t want Memorex.

Be looking for the canned performance Feb. 3rd on .

god, the people who wanted her to sing live so bad problably just wanted her to mess up the live singing. i am sure she and randy will be doing something great and take care of the opportunity, whether it’s live or not!

Gee, what a surprise.  Another know-nothing “columnist” with something against Paula Abdul—who happens to be one of the last genuinely nice people left in Hollywood.

By being snarky, comparing the performance to that of Britney Spears on the VMA’s, and invoking the term “Memorex,” you know damn well you’re implying that Paula will be lip-syncing.

Nothing could be further from the truth and, even though you know that, you chose to report it another way.

It has never been confirmed that Paula Abdul was even interested in performing live during the Super Bowl.  It was a rumor spread by people who write pieces of “journalism” like the one I’m being forced to respond to right now.

What *is* known is that the video for her Paula Abdul’s new song (“Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow”) will debut during the telecast.  And *that* is the “pre-taped” performance Ryan Seacrest referred to.

There is no new information here, just another pandering, moronic way of reporting news everyone already knew.
