Sneak Peek: Sarah Palin’s Interview with Oprah
Carrie Prejean, take notes. This is how your “hero” Sarah Palin addresses difficult questions.
Based on snippets released, it appears the long-awaited interview between Oprah Winfrey and the former Alaskan governor was a lot less tense than some may have feared. The chat, which covered a number of topics, will air one day before Palin’s book, Going Rogue, is released.

In a video recorded after the taping, Winfrey says no subject was left unturned.
“It was really an interesting interview. You know, lots of people didn’t want me to have her on, lots of people did. Lots of her supporters didn’t think that she should come here, but she did. And we talked about everything: We talked about inside the campaign, what it felt like when she was first was asked to be vice president. We talked about Bristol, the pregnancy. We talked about Trigg, her baby. We talked about Levi Johnston. We talked about her marriage, we talked about everything. There’s nothing that we didn’t talk about.”
So does Sarah feel its possible to share a room with Levi Johnston again? Would she consider inviting the father of her grandchild over for Thanksgiving?
“You know, that’s a great question. And it’s lovely to think that he would ever even consider such a thing. Because of course you want—he is a part of the family and you want to bring him in the fold and kind of under your wing. And he needs that, too, Oprah. I think he needs to know that he is loved and he has the most beautiful child and this can all work out for good. It really can. We don’t have to keep going down this road of controversy and drama all the time,” she says. “We’re not really into the drama. We don’t really like that. We’re more productive. We have other things to concentrate on.”
(We won’t actually get the definitive answer to that question until next week.)
And what about that infamous Katie Couric interview? (You know the one where she said she could see Russia….) Did Palin think that was a defining moment for her?
“I did not. And neither did the campaign. In fact, that is why segment 2 and 3 and 4 and maybe 5 were scheduled. The campaign said, ‘Right on. Good. You’re showing your independence. This is what America needs to see and it was a good interview.’ And of course I’m thinking, ‘If you thought that was a good interview, I don’t know what a bad interview was,’ because I knew it wasn’t a good interview.”
You can watch the sit-down in its entirety on Monday, November 16.
