Susan Boyle Places Second on Britain’s Got Talent

After weeks of promotional buildup, finally got her chance to seal the Britain’s Got Talent victory this weekend. Unfortunately, the overnight sensation saw her hopes dashed as Diversity, an all-male dance group, walked away with the first place prize.

For Saturday’s finale, the 48-year-old dusted off the song that brought her into the spotlight to begin with. Her second performance of “I Dream a Dream” not only nabbed a standing ovation, but a genuine smile (and supposed tear) from as well.

“I’m not supposed that favor anyone in this competition as a judge; I should be impartial. But you know what - forget it. That was the greatest performance I’ve seen in history. You should win this competition. I loved it!,” Piers Morgan said.

As winners, the dance team (seen below) received a $159,000 cash prize and an opportunity to perform in the Royal Variety Show before Queen Elizabeth II.
