Loughlin, who is 43, will reportedly play a character named Celia Mills. People who have seen the pilot script describe Mills character as an ex-Olympic athlete who moves to Beverly Hills with her husband Harry, the new school principal, and their two children. The Mills, much like the Walshes in the original show are from the Midwest though Harry Mills was raised in Beverly Hills and moves back in part to care for his aging and alcoholic actress mother.

As I mentioned, E! was reporting that Hilary Duff was being courted to play Loughlin’s daughter on the show, “Annie” (the Brenda Walsh role). Variety magazine has since learned that Duff won’t be signing on, no word yet who will play what will certainly be a key role. The other Mills child is “Dixon” an adopted son who will reportedly be played by a minority actor in an attempt to make the lily white original series a bit more diverse.

The original script also featured the mysterious Silver siblings, Daphne and Max. Their characters live alone in a mansion while their parents are on an extended cruise. It is still not clear if the two are supposed to be related to David Silver, the original 90210 character played by .

As for original cast members planning to come back, both and Ian Ziering have already said they would be happy to participate. (Guessing their schedules are fairly open as of late?)

Lori Loughlin’s TV credits include a recurring role as Uncle Jesse’s girlfriend and wife on ‘s Full House. She also starred in ABC’s Hudson Street with Tony Danza and most recently in another Aaron Spelling vehicle, Summerland. That show lasted two seasons on the .

CW’s new 90210 is slated to premiere sometime this fall (boy is that quick). We’ll keep you posted.
