Halloween ghostHalloween may be coming at mid-week this year, but that’s no reason to miss out on the thrills, the chills, and the frills of the season. What’s on the TV agenda for the big night? Some networks (FOX) are showing re-runs, while others (ESPN) are ignoring the holiday completely. Where can you tune in to get the best Hallow’s Eve TV?

  • CBS is flouting convention and sticking with their usual Wednesday lineup, which includes a new episode of at 8. The kids will hunt for a treasure chest, while competes against her peers on the CW in the same time slot.
  • will start showing the ghostly classic Poltergeist at 7:30 while brings viewers a Halloween movie marathon.
  • The channel will attempt to educate at 8 with Notorious. The Halloween installment will focus on the truth behind the Amityville legend.
  • Bravo is re-running the 100 Scariest Movie Moments yet again, while the entertains with episodes of Goosebumps.
  • will go gory with the Child’s Play movies, while Disney looks for laughs with and The Haunted Mansion.
  • The network will show real-life shock with the 20 Most Horrifying Hollywood murders, while caters to its womanly fan base with repeated airings of the sappy love hit Ghost.

It’s a night made for DVDs, but don’t forget the live Ghost Hunters Halloween Special, which begins at 9 on the SciFi network. The one saving grace of the Halloween TV lineup, Ghost Hunters will have fright-friendly night owls entertained until well past the witching hour with this six-hour episode. Or, we could all just watch re-runs on FOX. After all, it is still just a Wednesday.
