Keep in mind—this clip is only a portion of what we will hear say come Friday night.

On this morning’s Good Morning America, Diane Sawyer previewed the 21-year-old’s first television interview about her violent relationship with Chris Brown. In this 5-minute clip, the singer admits she was embarrassed about allowing herself to fall in love with that type of person.

“So far in love. So unconditional that I went back. It’s humiliating to say this happened. To accept that? It’s a traumatizing experience,” she said.

But despite being “strong,” Rihanna realized that this can happen to anybody. And though victims of abuse are known to return to their significant others time and time again, she didn’t want other women using her as a role model.

“When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result into some young girl getting killed, I could not - I could not be easy with that part. I couldn’t be held responsible for telling them ‘Go back.’ Chris - even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say that their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say that they won’t kill these girls? These are young girls and I just didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened. It was a wake-up call. It was a wake-up call for me, big time.”

So if there’s anything Rihanna would like abused girls to take from her experience, it’s this: “I will say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence, don’t react off of love. F love. Come out of the situation and look at it in the third person and for what it really is, and then make your decision. Because love is so blind.”

The entire interview will air Friday night on 20/20.
