I’m really of two minds about the whole thing.  On the one hand, it’s reprehensible to portray a woman as enjoying a rape in this day and age, but, on the other hand, Janet’s enjoyment is sort of consistent with how poorly drawn her character has been all along.  It’s going to be very hard to have sympathy with Tommy’s character after this—as if it weren’t already.

It’s become quite clear as of late that she clearly enjoys having sex with him.  Their relationship isn’t great, but she has always like him for being forceful.  She also enjoys him in the sack.  They were married before- it’s not like he’s a stranger, and there’s clearly still some feelings between them.  Was it right of him to do? No. But it’s not uncommon for people to have great sex but not like each other personally.
