Sunday Ratings: Golden Globes Not So Bright

Despite the glitz and glamour of the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the telecast wasn’t a big draw. This year’s ceremony actually had its lowest numbers of its 13-year NBC history. This allowed CBS, boosted by an earlier Steelers/Charges game, to take the night in the viewers and demos.

  • Approximately 14.6 million saw Slumdog Millionaire take top prize at the (4.8/11 in 18-49).
  • (4.0/9) reported to 13.7 million.
  • ‘s adult demo numbers (12.5 million, 4.2/9) were the smallest ever for a series premiere.
  • (10.3 million, 3.4/8) was off by 700,000.
  • ‘s airing of Carrie (0.5/1) scared up 1.4 million.
