Although American Idol was slightly down from last week, the network basically doubled its nearest competitor - ABC - with both the viewers and the demos.

  • (3.8/9 in 18-49) hoofed it to 17.4 million.
  • ’ (10.8 million, 4.6/11) piggybacked off its large lead-in.
  • (2.3/5) had 6 million watching paint dry.
  • * (1.7 million, 0.6/2) did a lousy job substituting for One Tree Hill.

10pm

  • (3.2/9 in 18-49) had 10.4 million wondering what they would do.
  • * (8.5 million, 2.6/7) got by with a half million less.
  • (1.9/5) said goodbye to a loyal 6 million.
