FOX’s pre-holiday episode of hit all the right notes, featuring several great performances that struck a chord with viewing audiences. Not only did we get two fabulous solo performances in the show’s renditions of “Papa Don’t Preach” and “True Colors,” but Eve was the guest star! Even without all this flash and sizzle, however, the latest episode of Glee would still be its best…and it’s all because of John Lennon.

The heart-tugging “Imagine” number was definitely the highlight of the episode, featuring beautiful vocals and lots of eye-dampening moments. The video above is audio only, but it’s still great even without the visual. Lennon’s most famous song still has a huge effect.

Touchdown!

NBC might not have been able to land Robert Pattinson, but they have just scored someone with a lot better abs.

On December 12, Taylor Lautner will be the one entertaining the audience at Saturday Night Live. Rolling Stone‘s current cover boy - who’ll be joined by musical artist Bon Jovi - will host just five weeks after his rumored girlfriend, Taylor Swift, pulled double duty.

Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively and Rihanna will be the studio 8H guests on December 5. James Franco and Muse will then appear on December 19.

Jane Lynch, who plays acid-tongued coach Sue Sylvester on , recently sat down with CNN to talk music, television and Broadway. Sylvester is currently appearing in the off-Broadway production Ephron’s Love Loss And What I Wore in New York.

“I think that Glee speaks to the underdog in all of us,” she said at one point. “These are a bunch of kids who, in spite of getting slushies thrown in their faces…they show up every day, dutifully, at Glee club, to sing their hearts out.”

“A song is never sung for no reason,” Lynch smiled. “She has no filter. And it just comes right out,” she said of her character Sue Sylvester, always a highlight of the episodes in which she appears.

When you heard Glee was going to devote an entire episode to songs from Madonna, which tracks did you envision them singing?

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, actress Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) revealed her dream cover would be the dance hit “Ray of Light.” Meanwhile, she chose “Material Girl” for Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel), “Open Your Heart” for Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones) and “Frozen” for Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang)—since that was when Madonna was at her “most Goth place.” She also selected “Vogue” for Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) because she figured it would allow the wheelchair-bound character to use his hands.

Until their actual songs are revealed, you can watch this preview of actress (pregnant cheerleader Quinn Fabray) doing a rendition of “Papa Don’t Preach.”
