VIDEO: Blago Won’t Blab to Jon Stewart
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Talk Shows, Cable, Daily Show, The, Video
Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich appeared on The Daily Show last night to talk candidly with Jon Stewart about his public fall from grace…er, sort of. Actually, Blago mostly stuck to his carrot-on-a-stick “I’m innocent” story, wherein he is prevented from actually disclosing the evidence that will prove he did no wrong.

30 Rock, Saturday Night Live Both Want Robert Pattinson
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, Prime Time, NBC, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, Gossip
Could a vampire be making its way onto NBC?
At the recent Primetime Emmy Awards, not one, but two, different Peacock stars expressed interest in snagging a particular Twilight star for their show.
In addition to an appearance from Paul McCartney, 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin said he would also welcome a visit from Edward Cullen. “Well, I’m sure that Robert Pattinson has no shortage of shows that want him to come on, like Desperate Housewives and shows like that,” Baldwin admitted. “I’m sure those women would like to get their hands on Robert Pattinson.”
One of those other programs aiming to land the 23-year-old is Saturday Night Live. “We would love to get Robert Pattinson,” Seth Meyers said.
For now, the next thing the young star star is scheduled to star in is New Moon. That film hits theaters on November 20.

Posted by Kathleen Kane Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video
So the sources were true—Megan Fox will indeed be hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.
In the promo clips for the show, which airs on NBC this Saturday night at 11 p.m., Fox jokes with SNL cast member Andy Samberg (focusing yet again on all of the “hot” jokes surrounding the Transformers star).
At one point, Samberg tells Megan, “God, you are so beautiful,” to which she realizes he was talking about a guy standing next to her.

Could the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards be another year for firsts?
Around this same time last September, the execs of basic cable were thrilled to see one of their own finally win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series (Mad Men). Meanwhile, producers of reality fare saw an award given to one of their hosts (Jeff Probst). So which other category could be covered during this round? Animation.
For the first time since 1961 (when The Flintstones were still on air), an animated program has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. So will Family Guy finally go where The Simpsons has never gone before? Not if the six other contenders have anything to say about it!
So who won? Who lost? Which funnyman took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor since Jeremy Piven wasn’t even nominated? Read our West Coast play-by-play account of this evening’s telecast and find out!

Friday Ratings: NBC Makes a Week End Mark
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Drama, Games, Kids, Music, Sci-Fi/Horror, Talk Shows, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Medium, Ratings
Up until now, CBS has traditionally dominated Friday nights with its Ghost Whisperer/Numb3rs combo. But could Jay Leno potentially change that? Although we’re still a week away from finding out, the program got off to a nice start this weekend. Primetime’s new 10:00 show helped give NBC a win in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Dateline NBC (2.0/7 in 18-49) averaged 7.4 million over two hours.
- Approximately 5 million watched the finale of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (1.0/4).
- Ghost Whisperer* (1.1/4) pulled in 4.6 million.
- The 2009 Alma Awards (0.6/2) attracted 2.2 million.
- Smallville* (0.6/2) dialed up 1.6 million.
