Tuesday Ratings: Season High for DWTS

DWTS’ ending may have divided voters, but it got people watching. Although last night’s showdown marked a finale low in the demos, the series did hit season highs overall.

8pm

• NCIS (20.3 million, 4.4/13 in 18-49) dominated its hour.
• The fall finale of V (3.1/9) closed with 9.2 million.
• The Biggest Loser (8.9 million, 3.5/10) trimmed off 500,000.
• So You Think You Can Dance (5.4 million, 2.1/6) lost 400,000.
• 90210* (1.2 million, 0.5/2) gave up 900,000.

Monday Ratings: Happy Slapsgiving for CBS

Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like another slap for Barney Stinson. The highly-anticipated event helped kick off a strong night of comedy and put CBS on top with the demos. Meanwhile, DWTS’ penultimate episode gave ABC a win with the viewers.

8pm

• Approximately 20.5 million watched the final three on Dancing with the Stars (4.1/10 in 18-49).
• House (4.5/12 in 18-49) checked in 11.8 million.
• How I Met Your Mother (8.7 million, 3.7/10) hit a season-high demo; Accidentally on Purpose (3.2/8) scored 7.8 million.
• Heroes (2.3/6) saved 5.1 million.
• One Tree Hill* (0.6/2) settled for 1.3 million.

• Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm):  “Charlie’s male ego is bruised when he learns that he hasn’t been satisfying Chelsea.” Well, it has been a long time since he was a Hot Shot.
• Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 10pm):  “Jon and Kate reflect on changes in their lives and the ups and downs over the years in the series finale.” Just so I’m clear—would Jon’s weight be considered an up or a down?

Tuesday Ratings: Heather Hardly Helps Melrose

Didn’t know Heather Locklear was moving back to Melrose Place? Apparently you weren’t the only who missed that invite. Locklear’s return to the famous address hardly raised an eyebrow last night. The CW program still pulled in under a 1.0 in the rating and trailed behind its lead-in.

• NCIS (20.2 million, 4.1/11 in 18-49) remained steady.
• V (9.3 million, 3.1/8) let another 1.4 million escape.
• The Biggest Loser (9.4 million, 3.7/10) lost 300,000.
• NBC’s Merry Madagascar (2.9/8) entertained 5 million.
• So You Think You Can Dance (6 million, 2.4/7) raised 200,000.
• 90210 (2.1 million, 1.1/3) did the same as last week.

Tuesday Ratings: V Comes Back to Earth

The novelty of aliens on Earth was bound to wear off sometime soon. After a spectacular debut just seven days ago, V fell 27% in the prime demos. Although that’s the largest Week 2 drop for any scripted show this season, the resulting number should still be pleasing to ABC.

• NCIS (20.1 million, 4.4/12 in 18-49) picked up 700,000.
• V (10.7 million, 3.8/10) lost 3.2 million.
• The Biggest Loser (9.7 million, 3.8/10) gained 700,000.
• So You Think You Can Dance (5.8 million, 2.3/6) slipped by 300,000.
• 90210 (2.1 million, 1.2/3) matched its season demo high.

Monday Ratings: Audiences Welcome Back House

After a few weeks on the bench, House returned in fine form last night. The drama gave FOX a win in the demos yesterday while ABC was first with the viewers.

• Dancing with the Stars (17.7 million, 3.6/9) was the most-watched show of the night.
• House (12.8 million, 5.1/13 in 18-49) had the evening’s best demos.
• How I Met Your Mother (9 million, 3.5/9) did about the same; Accidentally on Purpose (8.2 million, 3.0/7) was off by 300,000.
• Heroes (5.3 million, 2.3/6) hit a new low with the 18-49s.
• One Tree Hill (2.7 million, 1.2/3) added on 300,000.

Tuesday Ratings: Americans Welcome the Visitors

Where were you when the visitors arrived last night? Yesterday’s highly-anticipated debut of V had the best 18-49 performance for any new series this season. Its audience numbers also came in right behind the premiere of NCIS: Los Angeles for freshman programs. Unfortunately, that one show couldn’t carry the whole network. CBS still won in the viewers and had a tight victory in the demos.

8pm

• NCIS (19.4 million, 4.2/11 in 18-49) was the most-watched program last night.
• V (13.9 million, 5.0/13) had the best demos of the evening.
• The Biggest Loser (9 million, 3.4/9) hit its lowest 18-49 mark this season.
• So You Think You Can Dance (6.1 million, 2.4/6) lost 400,000.
• 90210 (1.1/3) clocked in 2.1 million.

Monday Ratings: FOX Slides Into First

Game 5 between the Yankees and the Phillies was also charm for FOX. Last night’s meeting had the biggest audience for a fifth outing since 2003.

• Approximately 17.1 million were glued to the World Series (5.3/14 in 18-49).
• Dancing with the Stars (16.2 million, 3.3/8) was the most-watched outside sports.
• How I Met Your Mother (3.5/9) had 9.1 million laughing; Accidentally on Purpose (3.2/8) turned in 8.5 million.
• Heroes (6.2 million, 2.6/7) improved by 300,000.
• One Tree Hill (2.4 million, 1.1/3) was off by 300,000.

DWTS’ Lacey Schwimmer Out with Flu

Another week calls for another substitution.

Although Season 8 of Dancing with the Stars was riddled with celebrity injuries, Season 9 has been hit on the professional side. Two weeks ago, Derek Hough was temporarily replaced by Maksim Chmerkovskiy when he was hit with the flu. Now, Lacey Schwimmer is using up one of her sick days.

On tonight’s broadcast, Anna Trebunskaya will play the part of Mark Dacascos’ partner. Anna originally stepped in this weekend to help the Iron Chef America star rehearse, but her role later increased when Schwimmer’s condition worsened. Unfortunately, this last-minute shuffling only gave the pair two days to learn two dances (the samba and a group paso doble.)

So how is Lacey feeling right now? Well - according to a tweet from earlier today, not great. “Guys I’m super sad to be sick today. Ugh,” she wrote.

Tuesday Ratings: Big Night for Biggest Loser

Had this been any other Tuesday, CBS would have likely topped all categories. But thanks to a full slate of repeats, the Eye network was only first with the viewers while NBC (finally!) managed a win in the demos.

8pm

• An NCIS* repeat (16.1 million, 3.2/9 in 18-49) was still the most-watched show of the night.
• The Biggest Loser (9.7 million, 3.7/10) had the best demos of the evening.
• Approximately 8.9 million celebrated Halloween with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (2.7/7).
• So You Think You Can Dance (2.5/6) had 6.5 million on their feet.
• 90210* (1.4 million, 0.7/2) dropped 1 million.
