UPDATE: Maher's rep claims the "joint" wasn't real.

Zach Galifianakis may not be a Mel Gibson supporter, but there is one thing he is in favor of: the legalization of marijuana.

During the recent broadcast of , the Hangover star surprised his fellow roundtable guests when he pulled out a special prop for the discussion on Proposition 19.

Just in case you were wondering if Zach was simply blowing smoke, conservative commentary Margaret Hoover (the woman seen laughing) verified he wasn’t.

Big Love

Let’s hope TLC brings back the action, because it’s soon going to end on HBO. It was just announced that Big Love's upcoming fifth season will also double as its last.

According to the show’s producers, the decision to end the program was simply storyline-dictated.

“When we created Big Love in 2002, we had a strong conception of the journey the Henrickson family would make over the course of the series, of the story we had to tell,” creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer said in a statement. “While we were in the writers’ room this year shaping our fifth season, we discovered that we were approaching the culmination of that story.”

Mark and Will did offer fans some good news to help offset the disappoinment. “This coming January, we look forward to presenting our audience with the most vibrant and satisfying final season of a television series that we can produce,” the duo promised.

Big Love will begin its farewell on January 16.

Google Logo

It’s official: Google is in charge of the modern world. The Internet giant recently signed a deal which brings together HBO, Netflix, Pandora and the NBA under a new banner: Google TV.

It’s all part of Google’s multimillion-channel TV system, which will launch in the fall. The system runs on Google’s Android OS, making it possible for Web viewers to watch content on their television sets. And next fall, Google’s going to present Google Mind, which allows users to plug their brains directly into their computer systems. (We’re just kidding about that last bit … or, are we?)

NBC Universal, Time Warner and Twitter will also be involved, offering apps which will allow users to access content from their TVs. alone plans to offer 600-plus hours of programming (which just about covers the first two seasons of The Sopranos), and the NBA has created an app which will keep viewers updated on games and scores in real time. Google is hinting that even more news will unfold in the next few weeks.

Oksana Grigorieva-Oksana Grigorieva, Mel Gibson’s ex, has chosen to give Oprah Winfrey her very first interview. It’s not known yet when that sit-down will air. (Let’s just hope it doesn’t involve singing as well.)

-According to an annual survey from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), HBO’s True Blood has the most gay characters on television. ABC tops major networks with 11 characters overall, while CBS came in last with only one.

-Anderson Cooper, who has filled in for Regis Philbin many times, is planning to launch his own daytime talk show in Fall 2011. The news anchor will also continue his evening duties with CNN.

-Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior—a show that pits historical fighters against each other—is being adapted for the big screen. The details surrounding Paramount’s project have not been revealed.
