Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like another slap for Barney Stinson. The highly-anticipated event helped kick off a strong night of comedy and put CBS on top with the demos. Meanwhile, DWTS’ penultimate episode gave ABC a win with the viewers.

8pm

• Approximately 20.5 million watched the final three on Dancing with the Stars (4.1/10 in 18-49).
• House (4.5/12 in 18-49) checked in 11.8 million.
• How I Met Your Mother (8.7 million, 3.7/10) hit a season-high demo; Accidentally on Purpose (3.2/8) scored 7.8 million.
• Heroes (2.3/6) saved 5.1 million.
• One Tree Hill* (0.6/2) settled for 1.3 million.

Monday Ratings: Audiences Welcome Back House

After a few weeks on the bench, House returned in fine form last night. The drama gave FOX a win in the demos yesterday while ABC was first with the viewers.

8pm

• Dancing with the Stars (17.7 million, 3.6/9) was the most-watched show of the night.
• House (12.8 million, 5.1/13 in 18-49) had the evening’s best demos.
• How I Met Your Mother (9 million, 3.5/9) did about the same; Accidentally on Purpose (8.2 million, 3.0/7) was off by 300,000.
• Heroes (5.3 million, 2.3/6) hit a new low with the 18-49s.
• One Tree Hill (2.7 million, 1.2/3) added on 300,000.

Monday Ratings: FOX Slides Into First

Game 5 between the Yankees and the Phillies was also charm for FOX. Last night’s meeting had the biggest audience for a fifth outing since 2003.

• Approximately 17.1 million were glued to the World Series (5.3/14 in 18-49).
• Dancing with the Stars (16.2 million, 3.3/8) was the most-watched outside sports.
• How I Met Your Mother (3.5/9) had 9.1 million laughing; Accidentally on Purpose (3.2/8) turned in 8.5 million.
• Heroes (6.2 million, 2.6/7) improved by 300,000.
• One Tree Hill (2.4 million, 1.1/3) was off by 300,000.

Upcoming Heroes Death Not So Shocking

While reporter Kristin Dos Santos has been the source of many a good TV spoilers, she posted a breaking story on E!‘s site regarding Heroes that wasn’t quite so… shocking.

On top of divulging the “spoiler” flat-out in the title, Santos confirms the fact that Adrian Pasdar has been offed on the NBC action-drama. Wait a second—hasn’t he already been dead as of last season? I doubt that anyone was counting on a hero to bring him back from the afterlife…

• Heroes (NBC, 8pm):  “Hiro has another chance to save Charlie (Glee‘s Jayma Mays) when he travels three years into the past, where he also encounters Samuel.” NBC has now resorted to reversing time to steal FOX’s thunder.
• Accidentally on Purpose (CBS, 8:30pm):  “Billie and Zack have their first big fight after Zack, hoping to surprise Billie, installs a low-flow toilet without consulting her first.” She didn’t appreciate having to flush twice after her #2’s.
• The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 9:30pm):  “Sheldon tries to teach Leonard the fundamentals of football.” Despite his wealth of knowledge, Sheldon still couldn’t explain the cheese-on-heads ritual.

Monday Ratings: Jay Leno Tanks Against Repeat

Could it really get any worse than this? Although the program faced a CBS repeat, The Jay Leno Show did the unthinkable last night: it went down. The talk show went so far down, it hit a season low in the demos. ABC, in the meantime, took advantage of the decreased competition and scored wins in both the viewers and the demos this Monday.

8pm

• Dancing with the Stars (3.8/10 in 18-49) averaged 17.4 million over the two hours.
• How I Met Your Mother* (2.6/7) pulled in 7.1 million; Accidentally on Purpose* (2.1/5) nabbed 6 million.
• Heroes (2.5/6) scored 5.9 million.
• A special So You Think You Can Dance (2.6/7) attracted 5.8 million.
• One Tree Hill (2.7 million, 1.3/3) hit season highs.

Even though House was still hot with the 18-49s, it got little help from Lie to Me. FOX came in a close second to CBS last night in the demos while ABC was on top with the viewers.

• House (5.0/13) treated 12.9 million.
• How I Met Your Mother (3.5/9) attracted 8.6 million; Accidentally on Purpose (3.0/7) scored 7.8 million.
• Heroes (2.4/6) pulled in 5.6 million.
• One Tree Hill (1.2/3) rallied 2.6 million.

DJ AM) premieres as he travels to his hometown of Philadelphia to stage a surprise intervention with a 23-year-old heroin addict who won’t go into rehab without a fight.” Finally, something of substance from MTV.
• The Rachel Zoe Project (Bravo, 10pm):  Season finale. “More stress comes in the form of a disenchanted Taylor, who threatens to walk away from Team Zoe for good, triggering a relapse or Rachel’s vertigo.” Employees—you put them on a reality show, and they’re still never satisfied.

Monday Ratings: Trauma Needs Assistance

NBC needs some help, stat! Yesterday’s series premiere of Trauma did nothing for the Peacock network’s health on Mondays. The medical drama pulled in numbers smaller than last fall’s stinker, My Own Worst Enemy. By night’s end, ABC was on top with the viewers while FOX was 1st in the demos.

8pm

• Dancing with the Stars (16.7 million, 3.7/9 in 18-49) slipped by 800,000.
• House (14.4 million, 5.7/15) had the evening’s best demos.
• How I Met Your Mother (8.7 million, 3.6/10) was down 500,000; Accidentally on Purpose (8.1 million, 3.1/8) lost 900,000.
• Heroes (5.8 million, 2.5/6) gave up 200,000.
• One Tree Hill (2.6 million, 1.2/3) added on 100,000.
