Nicki Minaj threatened to quit American Idol after her favorite act was voted off the show. The "Starships" rapper - who sits on the singing competition's judging panel with Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson - was left fuming after singer Curtis Finch Jr. landed in the bottom two and was sent home Thursday night.
After host Ryan Seacrest announced that Curtis and fellow contestant Devin Velez had garnered the least viewer votes, an angry Nicki pleaded, "I definitely think Curtis should not be in the bottom two. I mean, I love Devin but I think that Curtis, if you look at every one of his performances, I mean - come on, America, are you kidding me? Curtis, if you go home, I go home."
The 30-year-old musician stayed true to her words, jumping out of her judge's seat and attempting to storm off set as Curtis was eliminated, but she was instructed to return to her chair by fellow judge Randy Jackson.
Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer were shocked by Angus T. Jones' meltdown.
The 19-year-old actor - who stars on Two And A Half Men with Ashton and John - launched a tirade against the sitcom calling it "filth" in a video with his church pastor and while Jon was surprised, he felt living through former co-star Charlie Sheen's falling out with creator Chuck Lorre left him better prepared for it than Ashton.
"It is surreal to be part of several internet s**t storms. When the latest one happened Ashton came up to me and he looked like he had seen a ghost and he was like, 'Did you hear about Angus?' and I was like, 'He is ok?' He said, 'Sort of,' and he showed me the video. And as I said having become a veteran of the internet s**t storm afterward I just looked at Ashton and said, 'Well do you think he still wants to go in on the crew gift?' It's just been one after the other. My life has taken a lot of strange turns. Mostly I'm just glad everybody is still alive," Jon said.
Veronica Mars may have been cancelled six years ago, but fans are still just as ardent as ever to see a continuation of the UPN/CW series.
Series creator Rob Thomas took to the popular online fundraising site Kickstarter to generate interest and funds in seeing a big screen sequel to the show, which starred Kristen Bell as the title character.
"A two million dollar fundraising total probably means cross words are exchanged at the class reunion. Three million? We can afford a full-on brawl. Ten million? Who knows... For some reason the Neptune High class reunion takes place on a nuclear submarine! A Hobbit shows up! There’s a Bollywood end-credit dance number! I’ve always wanted to direct Bill Murray. We’ll figure out something cool. Hey, if that total goes high enough, I’ll bet the good folks at Warner Bros. will agree a sequel is a good idea," Thomas wrote on the project's Kickstarter page.
Miraculously, fans pulled through, raising over $2.8 million in less than 12 hours.

Emily Deschanel wants to star with her sister Zooey in New Girl. The Bones actress has revealed she is planning to make a cameo appearance in her sibling's hit sitcom about hapless 20-something Jess Day, and would jump at the chance to join her on set as soon as she has some time off.
"Zooey played my cousin on an episode of Bones a couple of seasons ago and we've talked about me coming in to do New Girl. We shoot on the same lot, so if we weren't so busy it might be really easy to swing on by and play a part. It's hard to get a few hours off, let alone a couple of days to do her show. I watch every episode as soon as I can when I'm not working," she said.
Because the pair play polar opposite characters in their respective shows - Emily plays serious-minded forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennen - people assume they are different in real life, but the 36-year-old star thinks they share the same core values from growing up in the same family.
Nicki Minaj was late for American Idol last night because she was stuck in traffic. The judge appeared to miss the evening's first performance by Curtis Finch Jr., but while she wasn't in her seat to give him her thoughts on his singing, he claims she heard him.
"During the performance, she was backstage," Curtis - who performed Fantasia's "Believe" - told E! News. He added the star almost ran into her as he stepped off stage, adding, "It was literally like, 'Step, step, step, curtain, Nicki. And she was like, 'Good job today.' To see her backstage was comforting."
Some of the other contestants noted Nicki has fallen foul of Los Angeles' notoriously bad traffic before. "It's not the first time and probably not the last. But I'm OK with it. I love Nicki," Paul Jolley said.
Burnell Taylor, who sang Westlife's "Flying Without Wings" on the show feels Nicki has earned the right to be late if she chooses: "I mean, when you look that good, you have to be late."
"I figured the character would go back and visit everybody, but he wouldn't do it on camera at this point. I think he had grown past the idea of being in the documentary, that was my take on it... I just thought, yeah, he'd go back and visit, but he wouldn't want the camera crew to be documenting it."

Kristen Bell's co-star found it a "little awkward" shooting sexy scenes with the pregnant actress.
Adam Brody, who guest stars in House of Lies alongside the blonde beauty, has revealed he initially found it strange filming steamy scenes for the dramatic comedy while she is expecting her first child but that she helped him to feel more comfortable.
The 33-year-old actor, who is dating former Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, told EOnline.com, "She was very pregnant. I like to say it was sort of a three-person scene. If it wasn't Kristen, it would have been incredibly awkward. Well, it was still a little awkward, but she's just such a warm and open friendly person."
The former Veronica Mars actress is expecting her first child with fiance Dax Shepard and while she can't wait to become a mom, Kristen recently admitted she is also a little nervous.
Cheryl Cole could be offered a huge deal to return to The X Factor.
The 29-year-old pop star was sacked during the show's first series in 2011 before suing Simon Cowell's talent show for $2.3 million, but it's now being reported she could be offered a big contract to tempt a return for the former judge.
"This is a massive move from Simon. He's going right out there and saying that he made a mistake in sacking her. After she was shunted off the show, TV critics in the US said in reviews that she was the best thing about the program - and it seems for once that Simon was wrong. Over the past two seasons, the X Factor hasn't performed as Simon would have wanted - now it looks like Cheryl will be the savior," a source said.
The insider speculates the Girls Aloud singer might not accept the deal after the added "humiliation" of being replaced by Nicole Scherzinger on the UK version of the show.
Brody Jenner is set to join Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The 29-year-old star will appear become a permanent fixture on his father Bruce Jenner's E! reality TV show, which also features Brody's step-mother Kris Jenner, her children from her first marriage to Robert Kardashian and her two daughters with Bruce.
"'Brody Jenner is going to be a full-time cast member on the next season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians," a source said.
Brody, 29, has previously made guest appearances on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, appeared with his brother Brandon in The Princes of Malibu and was featured on The Hills while dating its star Lauren Conrad.
Brody's decision to take on a more permanent role comes as Kim Kardashian, 32, recently admitted living out the breakdown of her marriage to Kris Humphries has left her ready to quit the show.
