Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like another slap for Barney Stinson. The highly-anticipated event helped kick off a strong night of comedy and put CBS on top with the demos. Meanwhile, DWTS’ penultimate episode gave ABC a win with the viewers.

Oh, Glee! An Interview with Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch, who plays acid-tongued coach Sue Sylvester on Glee, recently sat down with CNN to talk music, television and Broadway. Sylvester is currently appearing in the off-Broadway production Ephron’s Love Loss And What I Wore in New York.
“I think that Glee speaks to the underdog in all of us,” she said at one point. “These are a bunch of kids who, in spite of getting slushies thrown in their faces…they show up every day, dutifully, at Glee club, to sing their hearts out.”
“A song is never sung for no reason,” Lynch smiled. “She has no filter. And it just comes right out,” she said of her character Sue Sylvester, always a highlight of the episodes in which she appears.

Good Morning America Axes Adam Lambert Appearance

Despite the overwhelming split over whether or not Adam Lambert’s American Music Awards performance was too provocative for television, Good Morning America has canceled Lambert’s scheduled appearance for tomorrow.
“Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning,” a network spokesperson said.
I can’t necessarily blame them, considering I was appalled to wake up in the morning to be greeted by a very sexed-up Fergie performance on the Today Show. At the same time, there are huge Calvin Klein billboards in New York City that feature a half naked Eva Mendes (and men, for that matter) 24 hours a day!
Either way, CBS jumped at the opportunity ABC threw away, quick to book Lambert for their Early Show tomorrow. I wonder what the sexual singer will have in store for his daytime fans…

Filming Paused on FlashForward

Another day calls for another production break.
Late last week, filming was temporarily halted on ABC’s Cougar Town so that Courteney Cox could attend to a private family matter. (The network has since said work would resume on November 30.) Now FlashForward is getting its own time out.
Although ratings have gone steadily downhill since the 12.4 million premiere (the series pulled in 8 million last Thursday), the six-day break was reportedly built into the shooting schedule.
“They started production early so that they could have the luxury to do this,” a rep told EW. “They want to maintain the high quality of the show, and this gives the writers the opportunity to do so.”
FlashForward‘s last original before 2010 will air December 3.

AMAs: East Coast vs. West Coast Experience
Share

If you live on the West Coast, you missed seeing J-Lo stumble on stage…not to mention a few other things. Because of the time difference, a few changes could be implemented for the AMAs as seen in California, a distinctly more polished version than the broadcast spied in the East.
Some of the saltier moments could certainly stand the editing which followed for PST viewers, but Jennifer Lopez getting tripped up? Why should such a moment be hidden from a portion of the watching audience? Well, the answer seems simple enough - to make J-Lo look good. According to ABC, “We did not expect the impromptu moment in question,” well, I should say so. “Execs and producers felt it was respectful to Ms. Lopez to edit the mishap for later time zones.”

VIDEO: Adam Lambert Brings Controversy to American Music Awards
Share

I’m guessing this wasn’t the kind of “entertainment” ABC was hoping to see from Adam Lambert.
At tonight’s American Music Awards, the American Idol finalist raised eyebrows higher than his own hairstyle. During an S&M-laced performance of “For Your Entertainment,” Lambert leads a male dancer around the stage with a leash, simulates oral sex and then later kisses a male keyboardist—all on live TV. (Just in case you hadn’t already heard—he’s gay.)
Although it’s unclear which portions ABC was prepared for, E!‘s Marc Malkin said the kiss was not the cards. “Very good source tells me that ABC and producers did NOT know adam lambert was going to makout w/keyboardist…” Malkin tweeted.

Would ABC be smart to air cartoons every Friday night? The weekend’s broadcast of Shrek the Third helped give the network a rare tie in the 18-49s. CBS, though, was still a solo winner with the viewers.
8pm
- Ghost Whisperer (8.4 million, 2.0/7 in 18-49) raised another 400,000.
- Law & Order (7.5 million, 1.5/5) remained steady.
- Shrek the Third (1.9/6) attracted 6.3 million to ABC.
- House* (3.3 million, 1.0/4) fell by 200,000.
- Smallville (2.5 million, 1.1/4) also lost 200,000.

Production Temporarily Halted on Cougar Town
Share
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, ABC, News

UPDATE: Production will resume on November 30.
Filming on one of ABC’s most promising new shows has been indefinitely halted for reasons other than ratings.
Cougar Town, which would have shut down this week anyway for the holidays, stopped taping late last week due to a personal issue connected to star Courteney Cox. “We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter,” ABC said in a statement.
At this time, three previously shot episodes can carry the network through January 6. It’s not known when the cast and crew will return to the set.
