American Idol Gives Simon Cowell a Raise
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Rumors
According to the New York Post, judge Simon Cowell has been offered at least $100 million to continue with American Idol in the upcoming season - a huge hike from the paltry $34 million he made from the show in 2009.
Idol, by the way, makes around $900 million every year, so the huge raise shouldn’t put too much strain on the reality show. Looks like all Cowell’s talking about leaving the show had an effect - no way is Idol about to let him walk.

Infomercial Pitchman Billy Mays Found Dead

UPDATE #2: It appears that Mays’ death was actually related to heart disease.
UPDATE: Billy was reportedly not wearing a seat belt when he was hit in the head during the flight yesterday.
Billy Mays, the man who could sell just about anything, was found dead today in his Florida home. He was 50 years old.
According to officials, the infomercial guru was discovered by his wife Deborah. There are no indications to believe that any foul play was involved.
Just yesterday, Billy was onboard a US Airways flight that took a hard landing at the Tampa International Airport. Although several passengers did receive minor bumps and bruises, it’s not known whether Mays’ death could have been related to that incident.
The man who sold everything from Orange Glo to OxiClean had been appearing on the Discovery Channel with fellow marketer Anthony Sullivan. Pitchmen is next scheduled to air this Wednesday at 10:00.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the June 28th broadcast of the 2009 BET Awards will be devoted to the musical icon. Producer Stephen Hill reports a high interest from the participants to honor their idol. “I think what you’re going to find is that acceptance speeches for awards will have nothing to do about the artists themselves, but about the influence that Michael Jackson had on them,” Hill said.
