Ryan Seacrest’s Historic Paycheck

American Idol isn’t letting it’s sandy-haired host go anywhere…not for the next 3 years, at least. Ryan Seacrest has finished his contract negotiations and is now the highest-paid host in the history of all reality TV.
Not bad for someone who’s very best catchphrase is “Seacrest out.” Ryan went up from $5 million a season to a staggering $45 million, signing onto the reality powerhouse until 2012. As an added perk, Seacrest’s production company (imaginatively named Ryan Seacrest Productions) will claim more power in the 19 Entertainment family. Seacrest will be working more with Idol creator Simon Fuller as a result.

Ryan Seacrest’s Salary on the Rise
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Renewals, Rumors

American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest is currently negotiating his contract, which could come with a pay hike that promotes him to one of the highest-paid hosting gigs in TV. Simon Cowell was the first to ink a deal for the ninth season of the show, with remaining regular cast members still in talks with FOX, Fremantle and 19 Entertainment.
The three companies jointly produce Idol (this helps explain why Idol has three times more promotion and product placement per episode than some shows see in an entire season), and Seacrest is getting further into the fold all the time. Reportedly, the reality TV mogul is working on a new series with 19 Entertainment and American Idol creator Simon Fuller. This could be the Lindsay Lohan project which has been Twittered about recently…or, it could be any one of the other umpteen TV gigs Seacrest has in the works.

American Idol 8: Why Was Joanna Pacitti Thrown Out?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Rumors
Joanna Pacitti auditioned before the judges and won her way to Hollywood, where she performed ably enough to score a much-coveted spot in the Top 36. The day after these lucky three dozen were revealed, a change was announced: Pacitti, after all, would not be joining the competition.
So what happened?
Pacitti started out on American Idol 8 on a controversial note. Kara DioGuardi recognized this twice-signed singer the moment she arrived to audition, which sent the media into a frenzy to learn the extent of Pacitti’s music industry connections.
The brunette, who once won a competition to star in the Broadway version of Annie, is not the first to arrive on the Idol stage with a previous recording contract under her belt. American Idol 7 viewers argued that Carly Smithson, who was also signed previously, was far too experienced. Others said that Kristy Lee Cook, who had also been signed, was planted on the show. David Archuleta even won a reality competition before - Star Search. But all these singers, at least, had the chance to compete.
Why was Joanna Pacitti denied the same chance?

The $71 it takes to get into one Walt Disney World theme park for a day could soon buy you a shot at pop superstardom.
Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts in Orlando, Florida is about to launch its own version of the FOX TV hit American Idol.
Here’s how it will work: visitors to Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios park (formerly Disney-MGM Studios) will be able to audition at various locations throughout that particular park each day. Those who make it through that initial step will get some vocal coaching and hair and makeup help. Next they’ll perform in front of a real, live audience in Disney’s American Idol soundstage. If they pass muster with the judges and audience, they’ll move onto a preliminary round then to the final round each evening.
