Reality News: ‘The Bachelor’, ‘The Girls Next Door’

For Season 12 of , ABC will be straying far from the blue-collar image they tried last fall.  (Maybe a different type of guy will end up producing a different result?)  Say goodbye to bar owner Brad Womack and say hello to “global financier” Matt Grant!

Last night on , the audience got their first glimpse of Grant, a British businessman.  In his interview with Drew Lachey, the 27-year-old offered up a few choice chiches.  In addition to calling the candidates “25 smoking women”, he said it was “ridiculously hard” to send someone home every week.  Of course, the handsome guy never said why he needed help finding someone to begin with.

Moment of TruthNow that has successfully breezed through its two-week trial run, the show is being rewarded with a nice bonus.  - apparently believing the reality show’s gimmick won’t tire quickly - has added on another 13 episodes to its initial 12-pack order.  (I’m guessing it was the program’s stellar debut that instilled the network with such confidence.)

Although a list of potential seatwarmers dwindled after the show’s first two airings (seems the attention seekers weren’t too thrilled about what they had seen), other ballsy contestants will be stepping up.  Production on the additional segments will begin on Feb. 11th.

Celebrity ApprenticeJust when you think the Trumpster is down and out, he just keeps coming back for more.

Even though his ‘recruitment’ show once faced cancellation, it’s had a reversal of fortune and now been granted an extension.  Impressive numbers for has made think twice about letting and the reality staple go too soon.  (No rush decisions should ever be made during a writers’ strike.)  Come this time next year, we will be seeing a second round of stars vie for credibility and airtime.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, ABC, The Bachelor, Gossip

Bachelor BradABC’s The Bachelor this year tried to put a new spin on the sinking reality show with barman , a different sort of Bachelor for the series. And when you use a different sort of guy, you get a different sort of result.

In a season-ending shocker, the single guy opted not to give his rose away to either of the final two girls. Wait…what? After this colossal rejection, he didn’t even offer much of an explanation as to why he’s opting to remain single – though reality TV exposure no doubt plays a part in this odd decision.

Fans are left freaking out, and women are wondering why this handsome hottie doesn’t want to commit. Really, there’s some question as to why he doesn’t want to settle down with a girl he was paired up with on TV? Get serious – most of the men on the series probably never had any intention of walking down the aisle anyway.
