Tom Sizemore Joins Ex Heidi Fleiss on Celebrity Rehab 3
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Gossip

And you thought the tension between Jeff Conaway and his girlfriend was awkward to watch…
For Season 3 of Celebrity Rehab, Dr. Drew Pinsky and producers have upped the dramatic ante. Actor Tom Sizemore has just been included in the final lineup for the VH1 reality series. This means he will be seeking treatment at the same time as Heidi Fleiss.
Despite an impressive body of work, Sizemore’s personal life has been checkered with a host of legal issues. In addition to numerous troubles with drugs, the Saving Private Ryan star was also convicted in 2003 of assaulting and harassing his then-girlfriend. That woman was Fleiss, the former Hollywood madam. According to TMZ, Tom checked himself into The Pasadena Recovery Center last Friday, one day after being arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Mackenzie Phillips Signs Up for Celebrity Rehab
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Gossip

The third season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew is definitely a go and currently casting. Mackenzie Phillips, whose biggest claims to fame are her stint on One Day at a Time and her famous father, will serve as the in-house sober coach. This position was held in past seasons by Daniel Baldwin and Gary Busey.
The show’s sober coach is supposed to be an individual who has battled addiction and won. Phillips is no stranger to substance abuse or, for that matter, rehabilitation. As of last September, Phillips was interred in a rehab facility for the tenth time. Other cast members on the third season include Dennis Rodman, Heidi Fleiss, Joey Kovar and Lisa D’Amato.

Dr. Drew Extends Help to Sex Addicts
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable

Soon more addicts will reap the benefits of Drew Pinsky’s non-judgmental approach.
In addition to bringing back Celebrity Rehab for a third season, VH1 has just greenlighted the production of another addiction-related show. Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew will now be the second spinoff of the original treatment program. (Sober House being the first.)
Sex, like its two other predecessors, will be centered around a group of celebrity patients. (No word if David Duchovny might be one of them.) Over the eight-episode series, the producers hope to clear up any questions about the oft-misunderstood compulsion. The addiction, which touches roughly 6% of all Americans, is not normally enjoyed by those afflicted by it. It can also lead to devastating results.
Sex Rehab is set to debut sometime this fall.

Rehab’s Steven Adler Ordered Back to Rehab
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, News
Despite his recent graduation from Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (the Season 2 finale aired on Thursday night) and participation in a Sober Living environment (the VH1 spinoff, Sober House, premieres next month), rocker Steven Adler can’t seem to catch a break.
Yesterday the former Guns N’ Roses drummer was ordered by an LA court commissioner to enter yet another rehab facility. The sentence stemmed from an incident back in July of this year. At that time the 43-year-old was arrested for drug possession and for being under the influence of drugs. He was also wanted for an outstanding warrant. By entering a new treatment program, Adler is spared any jail time.
Ironically, Steven was unable to attend his original court date last week because he was still wrapping up his stay at Sober House. He completed his stint just prior to Friday’s appearance.
Celebrity Rehab Presents Sober House - also featuring Rodney King, Nikki McKibbin, Amber Smith, Seth Binzer and Mary Carey and Andy Dick - debuts Thursday, January 15 @ 10:00.

Celebrity Relapse
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Reality, Cable, Gossip
The patients participating in VH1’s Celebrity Rehab took a tough dose of reality in two recent episodes, wherein a former patient returned to rehab to smoke crack and create a ruckus on the roof. As the celebs looked on, Seth “Shifty” Binzer scrambled around on top of the treatment center, swallowing Ecstasy, smoking crack and looking completely strung out.
Finally, Dr. Drew Pinsky, with the aid of his staff, was able to get Seth down and into the center. The Crazy Town rocker remained contentious, but eventually quieted down. Shifty’s re-appearance at the PRC (Pasadena Recovery Center) became a stark reminder to current cast members of the show. His crack-smoking and roof-hopping spoke more eloquently than Dr. Drew ever has on the dangers of relapse and the mindset of addicts.
It was also a little disheartening to fans of the show, who rooted for Shifty’s success during his first season stint on the series. The Celebrity Rehab spin-off, Sober Living, began filming with Binzer in the cast. The musician left the set, however, and eventually winded up in a hotel room on a drug binge. Dr. Drew tried to talk him down from the ledge, so to speak, but Seth binged some more before finally arriving on top of the facility. TMZ reported the rocker missing in late July. Andy Dick is reported to be among the show’s cast.
Celebrity Rehab: Sober Living is scheduled to premiere next month.

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)
MONDAY (10/20)
- Prison Break (FOX, 9pm): “Roland seethes at the treatment he has gotten from the gang since he lost the transcribing device in Las Vegas.” Thanks to his fine work, this show has just been dragged out longer than it needed to be.
- Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm): “Vanessa blackmails Blair, so Blair retaliates by asking Chuck to seduce Vanessa.” Sounds like somebody’s got some cruel intentions...
- 17 Kids and Counting (TLC, 10pm): “A look at how the thrifty Duggars save money on their clothing, food and heating bills.” Thankfully, I don’t plan on shopping for a family of 17, so there’s a lot more for me.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “A murder occurs in a trendy fashion boutique and during the investigation Horatio realizes that Julia is becoming increasingly unstable and volatile.” Had he taken his glasses off, he could have seen this coming sooner.

Drama at Sober Living
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Gossip, News

Although the show hasn’t finished filming yet, VH1’s Sober Living already promises to be an interesting watch.
Last month, we told you about the cable channel’s plans to produce a spinoff of Celebrity Rehab. On the new program, several recovering addicts would live in the same home while trying to get their lives back together. Unfortunately, we’ve already learned of one guest who has experienced a setback. We’ve also heard rumors of a guest who probably hasn’t been rehabbed yet.

Sober Living: Possible Celebrity Rehab Spinoff?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Rumors

It’s one thing to get clean, it’s another thing to stay clean.
According to the New York Post, VH1 could soon be inviting more controversy to its channel. The network - which just wrapped filming on its second season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew - may begin production on a spinoff as soon as next week.
If the rumored project is given the greenlight, we could see several of Dr. Drew Pinsky’s former patients reunited Real World style. In Sober Living, the recovering addicts would live in one home for 30 days while trying to piece their lives and careers back together. (Could this be why Dr. Drew had a ‘Celebrity Addiction’ special recently? Probably.) Those supposedly approached for the new series include Seth “Shifty” Binzer (Season 1), rocker Steven Adler (Season 2) and model Amber Smith (Season 2).
Until then, you can expect the next round of counseling sessions to begin when Celebrity Rehab returns on August 4 sometime this October.

Celebrity Rehab Welcomes Back Jeff Conaway
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Gossip, News
While I was really hoping to see an appearance from Heidi Fleiss in next season’s edition of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (only a former madam could top a porn star), it looks like I will have to settle for something even better: another visit from Jeff Conaway!
Earlier today, VH1 officially named the next round of participants who’ll be voluntarily airing their dirty laundry. Later this fall, Sean Stewart (Sons of Hollywood and Rod Stewart’s son), Amber Smith (model/actress), Rodney King (victim of the LA Riots), Nikki McKibbon (American Idol), Steven Adler (Guns N’ Roses) and Tawny Kitaen (the Whitesnake chick) will all be seeking Dr. Drew Pinsky’s specialized help.
Those six will receive counseling for their various issues along with Conaway (who has had a series of ‘setbacks’ since his last stay) and Gary Busey, the most talked-about person from this year’s Academy Awards. (Jennifer Garner will be safe for at least 21 days.)
Look for resident tech Shelly Sprague to become frustrated once again sometime this October.
