(You can view TV Envy’s Midseason Programming Schedule here.)
MONDAY 2/16)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Chuck and Sarah go undercover as a happily married couple in surburbia.” A happy couple in surburbia? Isn’t the whole point to be inconspicuous?
- Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm): “The Gosselins settle into their new home after the big move, but there’s still lots of work to be done.” And Kate will make sure Jon knows it.
- Kyle XY (ABC Family, 9pm): “Kyle reluctantly starts working at Latnok to repay his debt, and it’s not at all what he expects. Yet he still wants to quit, until he considers the Tragers’ current financial situation.” Back up a second—someone’s hiring?
- True Beauty (ABC, 10pm): “Contestants walk the red carpet with their parents, but there are also several secret tests of manners going on.” In other words, pushing mom out of your spotlight would be inadvisable.

MONDAY 2/2)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “In a 3-D edition, global rock star Tyler Martin (Dominic Monaghan) is marked for murder, so the agents kidnap the musician to discover who’s behind the deadly plot.” Unfortunately, they don’t understand his “My-plane-crashed-on-an-island-and-there-were-these-Others” story either.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): “The newly powerless Hiro resolves to help Ando become a true superhero.” Sorry, Suresh. You’re stuck with creating powers for yourself.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): Season premiere. “Daughter Bridgette lands in trouble at school for drawing nude pictures of her art teacher.” She earned an “A” for technique, but an “F” for accuracy.
- For the Love of Ray J (VH1, 10:30pm): Series premiere. “The actor, singer-songwriter and brother of Brandy moves 14 beautiful women into his mansion and starts his search for love.” If Kim Kardashian can get a reality show, I guess her sex tape partner should get one too.

MONDAY 1/26)
- Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm): “Jon and Kate take the kids to see their new home.” The new place comes with extra bathrooms…and a new set of parents.
- The Closer (TNT, 9pm): Series return. “The fate of Detective Sanchez, who was shot three times and airlifted to a hospital, is revealed.” I don’t know how Sanchez is doing, but the suspense has been killing me!
- Bromance (MTV, 9pm): “Brody tricks the final four into attending a fake launch party for his line of designer jeans, where he asks them to walk the red carpet in pants that are entirely too tight.” Huh. I have no idea why people think this is really a dating show.
- Trust Me (TNT, 10pm): Series premiere. “Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanagh star as two best friends working as creative partners at a top-ranked Chicago ad agency.” Kinda like Mad Men, but without the booze and cigarettes. At least not in the office.

MONDAY (10/27)
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): “Angela asks Sylar to save Peter.” As if anyone believes that Peter - or anyone else - would really die at this point.
- Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm): “The Gosselins get ready for a trip to Hawaii, where Jon and Kate will renew their wedding vows.” This time around, they’ll be paying to feed 8 more guests.
- One Tree Hill (CW, 9pm): “Lucas’ second novel proves successful.” Let’s see if we can say the same for Chad Michael Murray‘s second wedding.
- My Own Worst Enemy (NBC, 10pm): “Edward’s trip to Mexico to gain intel on Russian weaponry doesn’t go as planned.” Nothing about this show is going as planned.

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)
MONDAY (10/20)
- Prison Break (FOX, 9pm): “Roland seethes at the treatment he has gotten from the gang since he lost the transcribing device in Las Vegas.” Thanks to his fine work, this show has just been dragged out longer than it needed to be.
- Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm): “Vanessa blackmails Blair, so Blair retaliates by asking Chuck to seduce Vanessa.” Sounds like somebody’s got some cruel intentions...
- 17 Kids and Counting (TLC, 10pm): “A look at how the thrifty Duggars save money on their clothing, food and heating bills.” Thankfully, I don’t plan on shopping for a family of 17, so there’s a lot more for me.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “A murder occurs in a trendy fashion boutique and during the investigation Horatio realizes that Julia is becoming increasingly unstable and volatile.” Had he taken his glasses off, he could have seen this coming sooner.

- Gossip Girl (CW, 8pm): Season 2 premiere. “Summer in the Hamptons winds down as Serena and Nate carry on a cover-up scheme to make others think they’re dating.” A few choice pics sent to Gossip Girl should do the trick.
- Prison Break (FOX, 8pm): Season 4 premiere. “Michael is in LA looking to even the score with Gretchen for Sara’s death.” I think Gretchen should really apologize for all of last season.
- One Tree Hill (CW, 9pm): Season 6 premiere. “Lucas’ chosen lady meets him at the airport, while Dan’s accident proves life-threatening.” Sorry. So not caring who Chad Michael Murray picks these days.
- Raising the Bar (TNT, 10pm): Series premiere. “Idealistic public defender Jerry Kellerman (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) fights for a man he’s sure is innocent, but holding a court is a judge who loathes Kellerman.” Gosselaar’s new hair has been generating some passionate opinions.

The 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Coverage
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Animation, Award Shows, Comedy, Drama, Mini Series, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, Bravo, Cable, CBS, FX, FOX, HBO, NBC, Showtime, 24, Amazing Race, The, American Idol, Daily Show, The, Dancing With The Stars, Desperate Housewives, Entourage, Extras, Family Guy, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, House, Lost, Medium, My Name Is Earl, Scrubs, Saturday Night Live, Survivor, The Office, The Sopranos, Top Chef
The 59th Annual Emmy Awards has not even started, yet I’m already sensing sensing a weird vibe about tonight’s telecast. Will the show be a celebration of those young and new (e.g. Heroes)? Will it be a tribute to those bowing out (James Gandolfini and crew)? Or will performer Kanye West somehow manage to cast a controversial shadow over the rest of the ceremony?
What a difference a year makes. Twelve months ago, we were still handing out trophies to stars from Will & Grace and The West Wing (those shows feel so five-years ago now). Today, we welcome a new crop of nominees including Ugly Betty and 30 Rock for Best Comedy. Last year, we were entertained by an always-hilarious Conan O’Brien. This year, we are threatened by a song and dance number from this year’s host, Ryan Seacrest. Last August, 24 snagged the award for Best Drama. This September, it’s not even nominated (yet somehow Boston Legal is).
I think it would be safe to assume the voters would predictably (and respectfully) shower The Sopranos with honors, but I’ll still be crossing my fingers for an upset sometime tonight. We’ll need something to talk about tomorrow…
Here’s the play-by-play of tonight’s events coming to you from the neglected West Coast!
