Getting Into Character: Gilles Marini on Nip/Tuck

Gilles Marini on Nip/Tuck

We may have seen the last of on Sex and the City, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing less of the French hunk. (Well - if you take into consideration clothing, we will.)

Although Marini is currently playing Rachel’s boyfriend on Brothers & Sisters, he’s also moonlighting as the husband of Erica Noughton (Vanessa Redgrave) on . (You know—the show that likes a lot of skin.) Later this week, Gilles will begin a two-episode arc as the FX program’s latest bad boy.

(Make sure to check out TV Envy’s Programming Schedule.)

MONDAY (10/26)

  • Heroes (NBC, 8pm):  “Claire and Gretchen go through hazing, but they’ve got other problems facing them.” They could just be blackballed from the entire network.
  • Trauma (NBC, 9pm):  “Tyler and Boone are called to a Halloween party that has gone haywire.” Every year, someone takes “Dead Man’s Party” literally.
  • Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm):  “Elsewhere, Dan is rattled when he watches one of Olivia’s on-screen sex scenes.” No one wants to think about Lizzie Maguire having sex.

Getting Into Character: Rose McGowan on Nip/Tuck

Rose McGowan and Dylan Walsh on Nip/Tuck

Oh my, Katee Sackhoff—how you have changed.

Although the blonde Battlestar Galactica star originated the role of Dr. Teddy Rowe on , scheduling conflicts have a resulted in a new actress…and a new hair color.

When the FX program resumes next week, viewers will see (Charmed) taking over Sackhoff’s anesthesiology duties. The new Teddy Rowe will be around to get Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) fired up for a handful of episodes.

Season 6 of Nip/Tuck debuts Wednesday, Oct. 14 @ 10:00.

Not yet ready for tonight’s premiere of ? Then maybe this video will get you warmed up.

In this exclusive clip from the program’s Season 4 DVD package, Dennis Reynolds (actor Glenn Howerton) does his best Alistar Cooke to present a unique rendition of his steamy memoir. Season 5 of Philadelphia airs Thursdays @ 10:00 on FX. You can also pick up Season 4 which was just released on DVD this week..

Denis Leary

Some good news and bad news for followers of . The FX series about New York City firefighters has just been granted a 7th season. Unfortunately, that will also be the program’s last.

The timing of the show’s end has been carefully thought out. The final hours will air in 2011—the year we celebrate commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

“Within the next couple of weeks, we’re going to begin shooting the last 19 episodes, which will be the final two seasons of the show,” co-creator and executive producer Peter Tolan said.

Rescue Me‘s current season will wrap on up on September 1.

Nip/Tuck Returns After A Year Away

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Cable, FX, Nip/Tuck, Video

Although the image of actress Sharon Gless (Colleen Rose) turning a Hollywood agent into a large Build-A-Bear is still fresh on my mind, it’s surprisingly been a year since was last on air. (The show was temporarily halted in February 2008 because of the writers’ strike.)

So where exactly did the series leave off? Julia was shot by Eden, Christian and Annie were involved in a car accident on their way to the hospital, Matt started sleeping with his half-sister and Sean was stabbed in the back (literally) by Colleen.

To get a clue as to what the remaining episodes of Season 5 have in store for us, check out the preview above. Nip/Tuck returns to FX this Tuesday, January 6th at 10:00.

FX Puts an End to The Riches

The RichesAfter enduring a ratings hit and a shortened second season, FX’s is officially being put to rest.

When the series originally debuted back in March 2007, it pulled in approximately 3.8 million viewers. Unfortunately, the Eddie Izzard/Minnie Driver drama saw a significant drop just one year later. Riches - already hurt by the writers strike - saw a 44% drop in the key 18-49 demo when Season Two kicked off in March 2008.

Fortunately for FX, this failed program won’t keep the network from celebrating. Just last month, Damages became one of the first two basic cable programs ever to be nominated for Best Drama. Meanwhile, the channel has already decided to renew Sons of Anarchy for a second season.

Shows Planning a Return in 2009

Kathy Griffin

While it’s probably be safe to assume that Fringe and 90210 would both be handed 2009 renewal notices - especially since they’ve already been given full season orders - this television season is still far too young.

Here is, though, what we do know already about next year’s programming calendar:

  • Big Brother (CBS) - Season 11
  • Entourage (HBO) - Season 6
  • Flashpoint (CBS) - Season 2
  • Here Come the Newlyweds (ABC) - Season 2
  • Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo) - Season 5
  • My Boys (TBS) - Season 3
  • Sons of Anarchy (FX) - Season 2
  • True Blood (HBO) - Season 2
