Tuesday Ratings: FOX was Hot, NCIS was Hotter

It took a two-hour Hell’s Kitchen finale to finally put a dent into CBS’ strong Tuesday night lineup. The FOX series helped the network win in the demos last night, even though NCIS broke the 20 million mark (again) in viewers yesterday. The reality show also managed to improve 19% from its recent May finale.

Dave Levey on Hell's Kitchen8pm

  • (20.4 million, 4.5/12 in 18-49) had the best numbers all around.
  • (3.4/9) weighed in at 9 million viewers.
  • Approximately 8 million watched Dave Levey win the sixth season of (3.8/10).

Tuesday Ratings: Huge Turnout for NCIS Block

Some things simply get better with age. After six years on CBS, NCIS returned strong for its seventh. Last night’s premiere had its largest numbers to date. That impressive performance - followed by two solid debuts - gave the network wins in both the viewers and the demos.

Tuesday Ratings: Melrose, 90210 Disappoint

The fall season hasn’t officially kicked into high gear, yet 90210 and Melrose Place are already coming up short. The sophomore drama debuted to nearly 2 million less than it did last year. Meanwhile, the freshman entry attracted a smaller number than Privileged did last September. (Note: CW has since canceled Privileged.)

Laura Leighton8pm

  • An NCIS* repeat (10.7 million, 2.1/6 in 18-49) was the hour’s largest draw.
  • Hell’s Kitchen (7.6 million, 3.5/11) had the night’s best demos.
  • America’s Got Talent* (1.5/5) got NBC warmed up with 6.8 million.
  • Shark Tank* (1.1/3) attacked 3.4 million.
  • 90210‘s debut (1.3/4) pulled in 2.6 million.

Thursday Ratings: Evening Not So Grey for ABC

Things may have looked grim for the characters of Grey’s Anatomy, but the show looked alive and well last night. The program - Thursday’s top performer - had its best demo performance in 3 months and its largest audience since last fall’s premiere. The weeper gave ABC wins in both the viewers and the 18-49ers yesterday.
