Will Forte and Jane Krakowski on 30 Rock

Although one could imagine 30 Rock making Jenna Maroney and her drag queen impersonator/boyfriend (Will Forte) parents, a baby will not be in their future anytime soon.

When news of Jane Krakowski's real-life pregancy was revealed, fans of the NBC series immediately wondered what that would mean for her TV character. Now, we know the answer.

“At this time, we plan to shoot around Jane’s pregnancy, because no child should have Jenna Maroney for a mother," exec producer Robert Carlock and Tina Fey told EW in a statement.

Ouch.

William AthertonMary Elizabeth Mastrantonio

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

30 Rock: If James Franco doesn’t watch out, he might start liking this TV thing and never turn back. The Milk star has not only lined up a stint on General Hospital, he will also appear as himself on the Emmy-winning comedy. Although NBC would not confirm the casting, it’s believed James will have a faux celebrity romance with Jenna (Jane Krakowski).

2009 Primetime Emmy Nominations

2009 Emmy nominations

Bright and early this morning, Chandra Wilson and Jim Parsons announced the nominees for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards.

Just like last year, we saw many first-timers named and a long list of cable acknowledgements (for both pay and basic channels). Thanks to expanded categories, we also saw a number of surprises (Flight of the Conchords, ) and overdue nominations (How I Met Your Mother, Big Love).

For the second year in a row, , with its 16 nominations, topped all drama programs. Meanwhile, 30 Rock broke comedy records with a whopping 22 noms. Overall, HBO was the most-nominated network with 99 mentions while NBC - yes, NBC - came in second.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris on Sept. 20 on CBS.

Video: TV Envy Interviews 30 Rock’s Jane Krakowski

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, 30 Rock, Features,

We were able to chat with ‘s (Jenna on the show) earlier today to talk about tonight’s 30 Rock season finale. Jane gives us a teaser on what to expect in the Season 3 finale, and also tells us what it’s like to work with so many world-class comedians on a day-to-day basis. We also go into some of her work on the Breyers Smooth and Dreamy promotion, where she has shot a couple of webisodes that put her into classical movies as a modern-day woman (and they’re pretty funny.)

Check out the video above for the interview, and head on over to the Smooth and Dreamy site to enter to win a very cool Dreamy Hollywood package, which includes an 8 day trip for 4 to Hollywood, CA. Once again, we thank Jane for taking some time to chat with us today!

2009 Golden Globe Awards

Golden Globe

One year after a strike-induced absence, the drinking resumed. Although the drew its usual set of followers tonight, this year’s program carried even more significance than usual. The reason? Heath Ledger.

With or without the Dark Knight nomination, the ceremony would have been interesting. Was this going to be the year a film about an Indian game show (Slumdog Millionaire) won top prize? Would either Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia, Doubt) or Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road, The Reader) walk away with two awards? Could ‘s comeback performance in The Wrestler earn him a surprise win over Sean Penn (Milk)?

To find out the answer to these questions (and many more), you can read our detailed coverage after the jump!

This Week on TV (12/1-12/7)

Barbara Walters and Tom Cruise

(You can view TV Envy’s Master Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 12/1)
  • Shrek the Halls (ABC, 8pm): Hopefully this Mike Myers laugher will help us all forget The Love Guru.
  • Inside the Actor’s Studio (Bravo, 8pm):  “Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter film franchise, charts his career journey.” I’m not sure I want to see James Lipton enthusiastically talking about Radcliffe’s nude Broadway performance.
  • Heroes (NBC, 9pm):  “Ando, Sam and Frack try to restore Hiro’s memory with a comic book.” Any person trying to follow this series should be given an instruction manual.
  • Boston Legal (ABC, 10pm):  “When Denny receives bad news about the state of his Alzheimer’s, Alan goes before the Massachusetts Supreme Court to plead for access to an experimental drug that can help his condition.” Alzheimers? Maybe Shatner simply forgot why George Takei dislikes him so.

This Week on TV (11/24-11/30)

Michael Chiklis in The Shield

(You can view TV Envy’s Television Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (11/24)
  • Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm):  After ten weeks, it all ends tonight. Sadly, I can’t even remember the names of the first two eliminated.
  • Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30):  “Sam invites boyfriend Owen (James Tupper) for dinner to meet her parents, but Owen and Howard don’t hit it off.” Seems Howard doesn’t approve of his relationship with Anne Heche either.
  • Valkyrie: The Plot to Kill Hitler (History, 10pm):  “Recalling Operation Valkyrie, a failed plot devised by German officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler.” By choosing this documentary over the version, you’ll be able to save a few more bucks for Christmas.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm):  “Audrina confronts Lauren and Justin after rumors circulate that the two hooked up.” By “confront,” we mean Audrina has them refer to the television interviews she’s conducted on the topic.
