Kate Gosselin Doesn’t Agree with Jon’s Decisions

Kate Gosselin was cool, composed and appropriate during her Larry King Live appearance, compliments which can’t be said of many who’ve matched up against the TV icon. Naturally, King asked about life with Jon, life after Jon and what might be next for Kate, minus Jon.
“His decisions right now are not the ones I would make,” Kate said carefully while discussing her (soon to be ex) husband Jon Gosselin. In the matter of raising their large brood of eight children, Kate admitted, “There’s a lot we agree on.”

Joe Jackson Denies Claims of Child Abuse
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Talk Shows, Cable, Gossip, Video
“I raised him, just like you would raise your kids,” Joe Jackson defended his parenting skills on CNN, chatting it up during Larry King Live earlier this week. “I didn’t make no mistakes, Larry.”
He also denied media reports that he’s been attempting to turn Michael Jackson’s children into a Jackson 3. “That’s a bunch of jive,” he answered the claims.

Perez Hilton Responds to Miss California Controversy
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, Cable, Gossip, Video

Gossip blogger and sometime Miss USA judge Perez Hilton, who created a firestorm of controversy around the normally sedate pageant, clarified his position during an appearance on Larry King Live.
Hilton became the most talked-about moment of the contest when he asked Miss California, Carrie Prejean, if she believes all states should ratify gay marriage, as Vermont did recently. Miss Prejean expressed the view that marriage ought to be between a man and a woman.
And as they say, the issue hit the fan. Perez responded with an angry video on his blog, Miss Prejean has been all over the media and almost no one is talking about the fact that Miss North Carolina went on to win the whole show (Miss California of the controversial answer finished as the overall runner-up).

Ryan Seacrest Dishes About Idol
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest recently sat down with CNN guru Larry King to talk about - what else - the final episodes of Idol’s seventh season, and everything that led up to them.
When asked about David Archuleta, Ryan Seacrest answered “David Archuleta is extremely comfortable and poised and powerful when he sings.” Ryan admitted, “He’s a little uncomfortable and fidgety when he’s not singing, but he’s a master with the songs.” Seacrest went on to say “David Cook is very different. He’s a rocker. He’s a nice guy. And he’s been through quite a bit.”

Rosie O’Donnell’s MSNBC Gig Falls Through
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Daytime, Prime Time, Talk Shows, Cable
That was quick. Just a couple of days ago, I reported that Rosie O’Donnell was in negotiations with MSNBC for a prime time talk show. Now… not so much. And yet again, it’s Rosie’s big mouth that’s to blame. And yet again, it’s Rosie’s haiku blog that breaks the news: “We were close to a deal/ almost done/ i let it slip in miami/ causing panic on the studio end/ Well/ what can u do/ 2day there is no deal/ poof/ my career as a pundit is over/ b4 it began.” At a recent appearance in Miami, O’Donnell spilled the beans by revealing that she would be competing against “the guy with the suspenders and the long, long face” (Larry King). Seems that and her comment at a New York stand-up gig that she was “filming for an unidentified TV station” may have sealed her fate. Then again, Rosie has commented before that she doesn’t really need to work, so I’m sure she’s not too upset about how things turned out. I can just hear Donald Trump’s comments about what a pathetic failure Rosie is. Mark my words, he’ll be showing up on an entertainment news show any day now.

MADD Not Quite Ready to Work with Paris
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Gossip
Paris Hilton may have spoken out of turn when she talked about her desires to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving during a Larry King interview on CNN last week. The organization that united against alcohol abuse may not want Miss Hilton on their team. MADD spokeswoman Misty Moyse said the non-profit group still has doubts about Paris’s behavior, and further said no one involved with Hilton has made any attempt to contact MADD about her desired involvement. MADD was founded in 1980 by the mother of a 13-year-old killed by a repeat-offender drunk driver, and had worked with a bevy of celebs in the past.

Paris Not an Humanitarian Just Yet
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, CBS, Talent, Gossip, News
Paris Hilton has told all and sundry that she’s going to improve her life and do great things for the world…but not before she gets some vacay time. The heiress landed in Maui yesterday afternoon, wearing a terribly ill-fitting black wig and designer sunglasses as a “disguise” that really didn’t work at all. Following her well-watched interview with Larry King, the interviewer told E’s Ryan Seacrest that Paris’s answers were too short, and Paris’s answer to his Bible question made him doubt Miss Hilton has read the tome at all, though she says it was one of her favorite jail pass-times. King also said he doesn’t believe Paris never experimented with drugs. More than three million tuned in to see Paris on Larry King’s show, big ratings for CNN. Missed it the first time? CNN will re-broadcast the Hilton interview today.

Gotta Love Anderson Cooper
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Prime Time, Cable
Did you hear that 3.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the Larry King interview with Paris Hilton? Sadly, I was one of those 3.2 million (and I am in no way proud of that). OK, so I was reading at the same time, so the interview didn’t have my undivided attention. Nor should it. I’m surprised that they could even stretch an hour out of the whole thing. Seems there wasn’t much to say, but I did like how Larry asked her what her favorite bible passage was and she said she didn’t have a favorite. Classic. Anyway, onto Anderson Cooper, with his 360 following the interview. Poor Cooper was forced to dissect the interview with a panel of experts and it was obviously painful for him. I think it was more worthwhile to tune into Cooper’s uncomfortable play-by-play than to watch the actual interview itself. The story seemed to be of little importance to him, but he had to begin with this disclaimer, “We can’t be above the news of the moment.” From that intro, you knew he wasn’t going to have his heart in the game. At one point he commented, “Well, you know, I know, I don’t really, I don’t understand her. I don’t understand her appeal, I don’t understand what she’s done.” Classic. I’ve been a big fan of Anderson since his days of hosting the reality show The Mole. Ah, dry wit. How I love thee.

Paris Chats with Larry King
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, Cable, Talent, Gossip
In her first public appearance since being released from jail, multi-millionaire heiress Paris Hilton sat down in an intimate setting with Larry King, lots of TV cameras, and a live studio audience to discuss her changed outlook on life and how she’s adapting to freedom once more. She was expecting to be sentenced to community service, not jail, the day she walked into court to receive her sentencing for probation violations. Paris, clad in white, told King that she went through a really traumatic experience, and that she suffered from nightmares while incarcerated. King asked Hilton about the mysterious “medical condition” that led to her one-day respite from jail. Paris explained that she’s claustrophobic, and has been taking medication for attention deficit disorder since the age of 12. She further explained that she suffered severe panic attacks while in her cell, and the house-arrest idea was all a doctor’s recommendation.
