Just because FOX benefitted from the World Series doesn’t mean its programs did. Last night’s return of Fringe hit a series low in the demos. Meanwhile, the other networks resumed their old ways. ABC placed first yesterday with the 18-49s while CBS was on top with the viewers.
8pm
- Survivor: Samoa (12.7 million, 3.7/10 in 18-49) was up slightly.
- FlashForward (8.5 million, 2.6/7) was off by 500,000.
- Approximately 8.5 million welcomed back Bones (2.5/7).
- Community (5.6 million, 2.3/6) picked up 100,000; Parks and Recreation (4.9 million, 2.2/6) slid by 100,000.
- The Vampire Diaries (4.2 million, 2.0/5) did about the same.

It might not have been the way Russell Swan wanted to leave, but he definitely got our attention. Last night’s scary episode of Survivor picked up its best numbers of the season. Unfortunately, CBS’ other repeats gave ABC wins in both the viewers and the demos yesterday.

30 Rock has no problems attracting guest stars and earning Emmys—so why does it continue to struggle in the ratings? Last night’s Season 4 premiere found itself down 27% in the demo from this same time last year. It also lost over 20% of The Office‘s viewers.
8pm
- Survivor: Samoa (3.5/10 in 18-49) tested 11.9 million.
- Flashpoint (3.1/9) had 9.1 million guessing.
- Bones (2.6/7) also rounded up 9.1 million.
- Community (5.1 million, 2.0/6) tied Parks and Recreation (4.7 million, 2.0/6) in the demos.
- The Vampire Diaries (1.8/5) roped in 3.9 million.

VIDEO: The Office Copies YouTube Wedding Dance

Even if you didn’t The Office last night, chances are you’ve seen the internet sensation that inspired the video above.
Shortly before Jim and Pam said “I Do” (for the second time), the guests at their wedding danced down the aisle to Chris Brown’s “Forever.” (We later learned that Jim purposely planned a Plan B for their nuptials the minute he saw that YouTube clip.)
If you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere, you can watch the original version after the jump.

Increased competition resulted in interesting results for yesterday’s programs. For the first time in days, The Jay Leno Show saw numbers under 10 million. Meanwhile, The Vampire Diaries - last Thursday’s record breaker - came packed with a little less bite. At the end of the evening, CBS was on top with the viewers while FOX was first in the demos.
8pm
- The premiere of Survivor: Samoa (11.5 million, 3.5/11 in 18-49) had the smallest audience in Survivor debut history.

- SNL Weekend Update Thursday (2.0/7) got 5.7 million warmed up for the night; Parks and Recreation (2.1/6) followed with 5 million.
