Lost Season 6 to be one hour longer than expected
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Lost

This is good news for fans that love Lost so much that they can’t wait for the next season, but hate the fact that it’s the last, can take a bit of solace in the fact that season six will go one hour longer than originally planned. According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello on Twitter, “ABC confirms that Lost’s sixth and final season will total 18 hours, including two-hour premiere and two-hour finale.”
We still don’t want Lost to ever end, but hey, at least it’s something!

Scrubs Moves From Hospital to Classroom
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, ABC, Scrubs, Renewals
Last year, Scrubs was facing change on a new network. This winter, the series will get new backdrop.
For the comedy’s ninth season, the program will freshen up with an entirely new focus. The day-to-day operations within Sacred Heart will be (mostly) replaced with the classrooms and teachers. That’s right, Scrubs is going back to medical school.
“It’ll be a lot like Paper Chase as a comedy,” creator Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s going to be a different show. It’ll still be life-and-death stakes, but if the show is just Scrubs again in the hospital with a different person’s voiceover, it would be a disaster and people would be mad.”
Although there were will be a list of new cast members, two vets will anchor the show. John C. McGinley and Donald Faison will both appear as med school professors. Meanwhile, other favorites - including Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and Ken Jenkins - are slated to make guest appearances. The hospital will also be seen from time to time.
No premiere date has yet been announced for the midseason show.

T.R. Knight Leaves Grey’s, Heigl Stays
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Grey's Anatomy, Gossip, News
UPDATE: You can read statements from both Knight and creator Shonda Rhimes here.
We knew someone would be a goner…now we know which one.
According to multiple sources, T.R. Knight won’t be climbing out of that hospital bed anytime soon. Although there was a chance of seeing him again (in some form) next fall, his rumored departure from Grey’s Anatomy was just made official. The actor, who had been reportedly unhappy with his dwindling role on the series, made the request to be let go. It’s now believed T.R. may take a break from television and pursue opportunities on the stage.

Small Budget Won’t Get in Whedon’s Way

Folks over at Dollhouse are already two weeks into plotting its next season, and creator Joss Whedon could care less about the major budget cut this time around.
“I just wanted to die of tiredness. About two hours after starting to talk to the writers about story, I was back with such a vengeance, and so energized and so pumped because we really understand the show now. We understand what works, and what didn’t work so well or what we weren’t so thrilled about. We don’t have the onus of trying to be a big hit sitting on our shoulders. We can just be ourselves. And so the stories we’re breaking are pure, and exciting, and everybody’s on-board in the room, and it’s never flowed better.”
Yoohoo—do you hear that, Fox?
“Really, just every meeting is like, ‘What’s the most fun we can have with this actor?’ about the whole cast. All I can say—‘cause I’m gonna be Mr. Un-Spoiler—is that we’re having a crazy amount of fun, and usually, that tends to translate onto the screen,” he tells EW.

Reminder: Pushing Daisies Returns Tonight
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC
Yes, the day has finally arrived…
Tonight Pushing Daisies fans can rejoice in the long-awaited, albeit brief, return of the delightfully quirky show. The ratings-starved program was shelved back in December and has been collecting dust ever since. This evening’s episode - plus the two to follow - will officially close the chapter on the program’s second season. (The July 21 DVD release will also do the same.)
Unaired episodes of Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money will then occupy the Saturday 10:00 PM shot following Daisies’ June 13 finale.
Gilles Marini Talks About New Brothers & Sisters Role
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC
I’m already looking forward to my Sunday nights this fall.
Gilles Marini recently confirmed to Us Magazine that he has sealed a deal to appear on Brothers & Sisters next season. The gig would keep the Dancing with the Stars contestant on ABC for an undisclosed number of weeks. “I got a call that producers wanted to write a part for me. I’m thrilled it worked out and that I get to prove myself. The writers and I had a long conversation, and they wanted to know who I am, inside and out,” Gilles said. (I’m sure many other women would like to know him inside and out as well….)
In announcing the news, the 33-year-old also revealed a possible spoiler. “I haven’t met Rachel [Griffiths] yet, but I know it’s going to be a great [partnership].” So does this mean that Sarah will get to make out with another ballroom hunk in a storage room?? (She had a brief fling with Cristián de la Fuente‘s character this past season.)
At this time it’s unclear whether the upcoming Sex and the City sequel is also in Marini’s future. “Hopefully I get a phone call real soon!” Gilles stated.

Preview ABC’s New Version of V
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Video
And you thought “reimaginings” were just something they did on the big screen…
Later next season, ABC will resurrect one of the classic sci fi tales from my youth. V, a hugely popular miniseries from 1983, will get new life in a new era and on a new network. This second attempt as a full series (NBC had its version in 1984) will once again introduce seemingly peaceful aliens to the inhabitants of Earth. But what do these “visitors” really want from our planet? And are they really reptilians in disguise?
And a note to all you Lost fans out there: Just because you see actress Elizabeth Mitchell (Erica Evans) in these clips doesn’t mean Juliet is gone for good. In fact, Entertainment Weekly claims Sawyer’s (deceased?) love will be seen again next year.
V is scheduled to premiere sometime midseason…just like Lost.

LOST Review: The Incident, Season 5 Finale
Posted by David Torres Categories: Prime Time, ABC, Lost
Well, the season finale of Lost is finally here and now the wait begins for the final season next year. So what happened? A lot! But before we get to that, I would like to rate this season finale up against previous Lost season finales. I wouldn’t say it was the best out of all the season finales we’ve seen from this show. I think “Through the Looking Glass,” which was the season finale of season three, is hands down the best the show has ever done. Still this episode was very good and gave viewers a major revelation that we’ve been wondering about for some time. By the end of this episode, the question all of us will be asking is where do we go from here? How will the story continue? How much has changed? Let the speculation begin, but first a more detailed review of season five’s two-part finale “The Incident.”
Spoilers…..........................................................

Ryan Seacrest Now Employed by ABC, Too
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, American Idol, Gossip
Ryan Seacrest, longtime host of American Idol, radio personality, producer and front man for E!, is actually taking on yet another project.
In his new reality series, British chef Jamie Oliver will visit “unhealthy” towns and cities in the U.S., improving their eating habits and offering food “makeovers.” Six hours of the series, which is offered by Ryan Seacrest Productions, have been ordered by ABC. I think it sounds like a horrible failure - and I give it 3 episodes at max.
“I’m a firm believer that the fuel we put into our body results in a healthy lifestyle,” said Seacrest of the series, which will air sometime in 2010.

Injured Melissa Rycroft Sidelined on Dancing with the Stars
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars

Could there be another bad ending in Melissa Rycroft’s reality show run?
Although it seemed like we had finally gotten past the Dancing with Stars curse, Jason Mesnick’s ex was absent from tonight’s taping. It was revealed that a rib injury suffered last week was actually a hairline fracture.
Despite Melissa’s efforts to perform this week, it became painfully clear after rehearsals that she couldn’t go on. Assuming she’s able to return to the competition (it’s currently believed she will), the judges went ahead and scored her pre-taped jive. (That was what they also did in the Steve-O back injury situation.) Unfortunately, the dry run with Tony Dovolani offered little substance and only earned a 21.
We should expect an update on Rycroft’s status on tomorrow’s results show.
