Marge Simpson: From TV Mom to Playboy Bunny
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Animation, Comedy, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip

It’s not a joke. Marge Simpson will soon be featured in a special three-page Playboy spread that showcases her various charms - and yes, she’ll be nude. The November spread will also offer an in-depth interview. It’s all part of the 20th anniversary celebration for The Simpsons, which is signed up to run on FOX for the next few years.
Playboy readers will still be treated to the usual, non-animated form of Playmate in the issue - Marge is just thrown in as an interesting extra.

FOX Changing Sunday Lineup
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Animation, Comedy, FOX, Cancellations, Gossip

King of the Hill is reaching the end of its road on FOX, though the show has long been one of the anchors of its Sunday night, animated-series heavy lineup. Currently in its 13th season, final episodes of the series are expected to air next year.
Created by Beavis and Butthead mastermind Mike Judge, King details the life of Hank Hill, wife Peggy and son Bobby - and a cast of characters that represent the best and worst of Texas living. The Emmy-award winning show is likely being dropped for the new Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show, expected to air during the 2009 season.
American Dad, which runs after Family Guy at the bottom of the 9 pm hour, will be renewed for a fifth year on the network.

Record Ratings for Clone Wars Debut
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, Cable, Ratings

Just weeks after leaving quietly from the theaters, The Clone Wars is being given new life on television.
This past weekend, the premiere of Stars Wars: The Clone Wars raised galactic-sized numbers for the Cartoon Network. The half-hour animated program had the best debut for any series on that channel ever.
The first two back-to-back episodes pulled in nearly 4 million viewers. That bested Ben 10: Alien Force‘s previous record by a million. The time slot also saw triple-digit increases in several key youth demos over the same period last year.
The Lucasfilm Animation series - voiced by many of the same actors in the film version - airs Fridays @ 9pm.

Contract Delays May Mean Shorter Simpsons Season
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Prime Time, The CW, News

Fans can usually come to expect at least one of two things from any long-running program:
- A constantly-changing list of cast members. (You can refer to the Law & Order franchise for examples.)
- Periodic contract negotiations.
So it should come as no surprise that America’s longest-running sitcom is once again dealing with matters of the financial kind.
