Blake Lively Talks Serena of Gossip Girl
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, News
Playing a super wealthy socialite on TV has both pros and cons, says Gossip Girl star Blake Lively.
Lively, who portrays Serena van der Woodsen, admits that when it comes to their closets, the two girls are strikingly similar: “I own half her wardrobe, so it’s far too similar to the way I dress.” Who could turn those clothes away!
On the other hand, Lively points out how crazy it is to portray the character at times: “I feel ridiculous at times with her, because I’m, you know, killing someone or marrying someone, but I look like me. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is absurd.’”
With that, she also added that she tends to feel her characters’ pain so much that it physically harms her. “I feel a lot. I get really bad stomachaches all the time. So I went to a doctor, and he said, ‘You’re a feeler.’ I take on people’s pain a little too much.” While I’m unsure as to whether that’s an act, I can say that it sounds like Lively takes method acting to a whole other level.

On the Cold Gossip Girl Set
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip

Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Ed Westwick were snapped up by the paparazzi on the set of Gossip Girl recently, donning some appropriate attire for the cold weather—both on and off set.
In one picture (seen after the jump), Meester is actually caught red-handed wearing Ugg boots! A Gossip Girl star wearing UGG BOOTS?! What on Earth was she (or her stylist) thinking? She ought to be fined.
Lively, on the other hand, rivals Emma Watson with her Burberry wear. Also, did Westwick and Lively cutely plan the motorcycle jackets together?

Will Victoria Beckham Spice up Gossip Girl?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, Spoilers
The CW is pulling out all the stops to keep Gossip Girl from falling to the ratings wayside. Now, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) will be putting in a guest appearance.
Gossip has it that Blake Lively spoke with Beckham during the recent launch of her fashion collection. Apparently, the Brit is a fan of the show. According to an unnamed source, “Victoria isn’t an actress, and wanted her role to be very tongue-in-cheek.” Sounds interesting…if you like Victoria Beckham.
If this doesn’t pull GG out of its slump, who knows what the show will do next?

Could the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards be another year for firsts?
Around this same time last September, the execs of basic cable were thrilled to see one of their own finally win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series (Mad Men). Meanwhile, producers of reality fare saw an award given to one of their hosts (Jeff Probst). So which other category could be covered during this round? Animation.
For the first time since 1961 (when The Flintstones were still on air), an animated program has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. So will Family Guy finally go where The Simpsons has never gone before? Not if the six other contenders have anything to say about it!
So who won? Who lost? Which funnyman took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor since Jeremy Piven wasn’t even nominated? Read our West Coast play-by-play account of this evening’s telecast and find out!

Blake Lively Wants Kate Moss on Gossip Girl
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, Rumors
At an In Style/Tiffany & Co. party this past weekend, Blake Lively revealed that she would love for fashion icon Kate Moss to make a cameo on Gossip Girl.
Dressed in a Kate Moss for Topshop piece herself, Blake was also celebrating her birthday at the event. When asked which guest star she’d want the most for her birthday, she replied, “Kate Moss! She actually was supposed to come on last year, but it ended up not working out. I love Kate Moss.”
Did you hear that, Kate?
If the supermodel were to bless the small screen with her stylish presence, doing so would be her first. I’m not too sure how I feel about that—I enjoy wearing Kate’s clothes, not watching her lips move while she slinks around a set.

2009 Golden Globe Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Prime Time, Cable, HBO, NBC, News

One year after a strike-induced absence, the drinking resumed. Although the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards drew its usual set of followers tonight, this year’s program carried even more significance than usual. The reason? Heath Ledger.
With or without the Dark Knight nomination, the ceremony would have been interesting. Was this going to be the year a film about an Indian game show (Slumdog Millionaire) won top prize? Would either Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia, Doubt) or Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road, The Reader) walk away with two awards? Could Mickey Rourke‘s comeback performance in The Wrestler earn him a surprise win over Sean Penn (Milk)?
To find out the answer to these questions (and many more), you can read our detailed coverage after the jump!

America Ferrera Not a Fan of Gossip Girl
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, MTV, The CW, The Hills, Gossip, Video
Question of the day: If you claim to be friends with someone, does that mean you have to like everything they do?
In a recent interview with Seventeen magazine, actress America Ferrera admitted there were a few shows out there she could probably live without. The 24-year-old star of Ugly Betty and Real Woman Have Curves (great movie, BTW) specifically named programs where true female bonds were sometimes lacking.
“Close, genuine female relationships are not what generally gets depicted in movies and TV shows. Like, if you’re watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act – you go to school, and you think your job is to find a sworn enemy and be jealous of each other.”
Ferrera then went on to include a show featuring one of her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars. “I mean, I love Blake [Lively]; she’s a wonderful friend of mine, but shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean.” Ouch!
Could this disinterest in GG be the reason behind Ferrera’s now famous eye rolling video? (You can see that awkward clip after the jump.) Or was the semi-mean comment really a result of her watching too much GG? Oh, the possibilities.

30 Rock Seeking Two Gossip Girls
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, Gossip
I believe 30 Rock is now just one guest star away from actually being Saturday Night Live.
In the past week, the series about a fictional sketch comedy show has had a list of names attached to it. First there was the news about Jennifer Aniston’s appearance, then there was buzz about an actual Oprah cameo. Now there’s gossip about Gossip.
It’s being reported that the writer/star of Mean Girls could be tapping into her own mean girl persona. And who better to help Tina Fey with this sweeps stunt than Gossip Girl‘s own Leighton Meester and Blake Lively?
