If you’re a football or a baseball fan, you were a winner last night. Baseball playoff coverage helped give FOX overall wins in both categories yesterday, but the gridiron action on NBC wasn’t too far behind.

- Sunday Night Football (5.2/13) pulled in 13.3 million for NBC.

Aside from FOX’s early celebration of Halloween (and a shift in CBS’ schedule), yesterday’s schedule was pretty uneventful. By night’s end, the Eye network was tops with the viewers while the Peacock network was first in the demos.

DJ AM) premieres as he travels to his hometown of Philadelphia to stage a surprise intervention with a 23-year-old heroin addict who won’t go into rehab without a fight.” Finally, something of substance from MTV.
- The Rachel Zoe Project (Bravo, 10pm): Season finale. “More stress comes in the form of a disenchanted Taylor, who threatens to walk away from Team Zoe for good, triggering a relapse or Rachel’s vertigo.” Employees—you put them on a reality show, and they’re still never satisfied.

There may have been a wedding on Wisteria Lane, but all the attention was on Cleveland last night. Although they pulled in numbers similar to their May finales, Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters both had their lowest-rated premieres to date. Meanwhile, the debut of The Cleveland Show had the best 18-49 start for any FOX comedy since March 2003.
8pm
- NBC averaged 14.1 million, (5.4/14 in 18-49) for its Sunday Night Football coverage.
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (10.5 million, 3.1/8) was down 1.4 million from last fall.
- Approximately 10.2 million (3.4/8) watched the 15th start of The Amazing Race.
- The Simpsons (8.2 million, 4.2/12) was off 1.1 million; The Cleveland Show opened (4.9/12) to 9.4 million.

Bright and early this morning, Chandra Wilson and Jim Parsons announced the nominees for the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards.
Just like last year, we saw many first-timers named and a long list of cable acknowledgements (for both pay and basic channels). Thanks to expanded categories, we also saw a number of surprises (Flight of the Conchords, Family Guy) and overdue nominations (How I Met Your Mother, Big Love).
For the second year in a row, Mad Men, with its 16 nominations, topped all drama programs. Meanwhile, 30 Rock broke comedy records with a whopping 22 noms. Overall, HBO was the most-nominated network with 99 mentions while NBC - yes, NBC - came in second.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris on Sept. 20 on CBS.

Gilles Marini Talks About New Brothers & Sisters Role
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC
I’m already looking forward to my Sunday nights this fall.
Gilles Marini recently confirmed to Us Magazine that he has sealed a deal to appear on Brothers & Sisters next season. The gig would keep the Dancing with the Stars contestant on ABC for an undisclosed number of weeks. “I got a call that producers wanted to write a part for me. I’m thrilled it worked out and that I get to prove myself. The writers and I had a long conversation, and they wanted to know who I am, inside and out,” Gilles said. (I’m sure many other women would like to know him inside and out as well….)
In announcing the news, the 33-year-old also revealed a possible spoiler. “I haven’t met Rachel [Griffiths] yet, but I know it’s going to be a great [partnership].” So does this mean that Sarah will get to make out with another ballroom hunk in a storage room?? (She had a brief fling with Cristián de la Fuente‘s character this past season.)
At this time it’s unclear whether the upcoming Sex and the City sequel is also in Marini’s future. “Hopefully I get a phone call real soon!” Gilles stated.
