Blake Lively Talks Serena of Gossip Girl

Blake Lively on the cover of NylonPlaying a super wealthy socialite on TV has both pros and cons, says Gossip Girl star Blake Lively.

Lively, who portrays Serena van der Woodsen, admits that when it comes to their closets, the two girls are strikingly similar: “I own half her wardrobe, so it’s far too similar to the way I dress.” Who could turn those clothes away!

On the other hand, Lively points out how crazy it is to portray the character at times: “I feel ridiculous at times with her, because I’m, you know, killing someone or marrying someone, but I look like me. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is absurd.’”

With that, she also added that she tends to feel her characters’ pain so much that it physically harms her. “I feel a lot. I get really bad stomachaches all the time. So I went to a doctor, and he said, ‘You’re a feeler.’ I take on people’s pain a little too much.” While I’m unsure as to whether that’s an act, I can say that it sounds like Lively takes method acting to a whole other level.

With the producers firmly signed on and ready to work, the CW is moving forward with their plans for a remake. The characters for the show have finally been revealed, but don’t get too excited. No casting for the roles has taken place…at least, not just yet.

David Patterson and Ella Flynn will soon be living in the chic complex. David is the son of Melrose Place forefather Jake. Ella is his casual lover, great at her job in PR and filled with barbed-tongue comments that have earned her the Amanda-like persona for the new series.

Small Screen ‘Star Wars’

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Sci-Fi/Horror, Gossip, Rumors

Star Wars IV Cast creator is planning a live-action TV series spinoff of the well-loved sci-fi film franchise. Although he’s just started working on the series, Lucas is firm that it will not contain any Skywalkers. In fact, no major characters from the film will appear in the small screen version. Lucas (jokingly?) told reporters the series will be about the life of robots, though he won’t reveal any other details about the series.  There is no network yet attached to the work.

Will the public love the small screen Star Wars as much as they love the movies? If the merchandising tells us nothing, it’s that people will buy anything with Star Wars printed on it.

ABC LogoA new report shows that seven stories on the five broadcast networks currently feature lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters this fall season. Last season, there were nine. According to a study by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, the number has been steadily dropping for the past three years. Caitlin Down (played by Bonnie Somerville) on ABC’s Cashmere Mafia, which won’t even premiere until December, is the only non-heterosexual regular character to appear on a new show this year. According to the study, ABC features more non-heterosexual characters than any other broadcast network. Shows like Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty,  Desperate Housewives, and the new Cashmere Mafia all feature non-heterosexual characters. NBC’s The Office features one character to fit the gay and lesbian mold. The report shows that, currently, CBS and the CW have no non-heterosexual characters on any of their shows, but CBS does include gay and lesbian contestants on their reality shows. In sharp contrast, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender representation on cable is going through the roof, with 57 characters this year alone.
